Abbreviation is a very vague word already. Technically anything that is shorter (abbreviated) is an abbreviation.

The difference between initialism and acronym is vague already. Regardless, abbreviaton refers to any shortened word or phrase, as such it encompasses any definition of acronym as well as initialism. Regardless (again), I didn't even say that it was an abbreviation, I said I was focusing on acronyms. I understand that it is important to you to at least save face in some form, but this is not the way You were wrong once, to pile more wrongs on to it now, won't make people think you are less of an ignoramus.
