God exists and is a terrible and hateful being, or God does not exist.

So then..what the ****?

How could you love someone that specifically creates a human being only to have them suffer?

If God knows all then he knows that baby will end up dieing 3 days after it's born..that's its life, over in a painful death.

Or the priest that gets hit by a bus and is pinned between 2 guys as he burns to death.

Or the countless other tragic lives we see in this world.

How can you say God is a good thing after all of that?

Ok so then you dont believe in god?

You think so highly of the human race, don't you?

You're speaking for KidRock (the "human" to whom my question was initially addressed)? You know his thoughts? Hey, is this really God testing this thread?

I was speaking for myself. You asked me to explain how a God would create heaven, which is irrelevant. I'm not God. If your position is that god is too complex to be understood by mortals, then that's your answer to the question.

Sounds like the typical die-hard rationalist response. How tired, and closed-minded, of you.

Sounds like you have the typical ignorant religious view. How tired and close minded, of you.

Stop assuming (you were already wrong once) and just take what I'm saying at face value. Now, you can have a good day.

How is that assuming? It's exactly what you are arguing, you're just hiding behind the tired argument that "God works in mysterious ways".

If you feel like addressing my questions about your views on the afterlife, feel free. If not, I'll consider the discussion over. 🙂

So I'm a little confused about this. So if God can create Heaven were all the "good" people go that there is no pain, suffering and a place of bliss for all time and I'm assuming that people still have their free will so why couldn't he have done that on Earth as well?

Can you get kicked out of Heaven as well and I'm assuming that you would be sent to Hell so if this is the case how is living on Earth supposed to prove that you can go to Heaven when you can still F up there after passing the test on Earth?

thats pretty astute of you, now i am confused.. but if you are right wouldnt some soul head back to earth and interact with us if they have free will?

That's exactly the point I have been making. Only response I get is "you just don't understand God". Seems to be a glaring hole in the idea that we can't have a utopia without giving up free will. Or, assuming that those who go to heaven do lose their free will, that we can't be perfectly happy without it.

Free will is still just an illusion, though. 😉

Most religions suggest it is indeed possible to be thrown out of heaven for crimes you commit there (Satan and Loki jump to mind). It's also exceedingly rare any typically happens to people who start there which implies that no one who would go to heaven, or whatever, would do things they'd get kicked out for.

What would God's perfect universe be like if there was no pain and death? There's no cancer, no disease (no doctors?) How would, say, an ordinary joe spend his typical day?

Don't take it so personally. 😛

Very interesting thread, you people are very intelligent. Your asking why there is so much bloodshed and misery on Earth, the answer is very simple, distrubing & tragic , but very simple. Humanity is fodder for Sinister Forces that feed off Human Energy. There is a creator and this scenario for suffering is the byproduct of corruption, conspiracy & manipulation of the Human Races.

Everything you have been taught to believe is a lie, to get to the truth you must unlearn what you have learned, you must open your mind & do the research. We are not alone , we were never alone. There is a quite War going on between the forces of Good & Evil.

The Creator is real, do not take your lives for granted. Discover your inner abilities & powers. Always stay positive , don't swim in misery.

The one thing about Christianity that really bugs be is this war (the war between good and evil). I find it strange that a religion that teaches the concept of brotherly love, can at the same time be at war. You can't love if you are at war.

Buddhism is not at war with anyone.

There is no war my friend. You are simply fighting against the bars of your cage. I know, because I used to be in that cage. Free your mind, and the rest of you will follow.

A person who's at war can love lots of things, typically not the things they're fighting though.

How's that been working out in China?

They're not. It hasn't been very successful policy.

We are not talking about common love, but the type of ultimate pure love that Christians claim their god has. This type of love would be corrupted by war, or hate.

Buddhism is not waring with China. No were in the teachings of Buddha does it say to war with China. 😉

War, in the sense of a war against evil, is clearly meant as a facet of love. Much in the same way that a doctor fighting disease is not corrupted by hatred.
