Not really, it's easy for them both to exist.
Aslong as you ignore the completely confused/confusing greek version of creation.
It seems the greeks had absolutely no sense of heirachy in terms of power between the Gods.
Zeus, the God of thunder did more than just create thunder, and the first god that was powerful enough to create the other gods was afraid of them once he did (what on earth?).
Other than that, it's easy to imagine the "Gods" as simply angels to the real God. So believing in them isn't exactly crazy.
I'm still struggling to understand how insignificant humans who kill innocent bacteria simply by allowing themselves to live, think they can judge the God that gave them all the good things they have.

Lol, we could all go around throwing judgements, but unless we know all the information we cannot actually judge.
Bacteria are innocent, but they don't feel emotions.
God may have killed people, but how are you so sure they were innocent?
And why are your judgements better than Gods?
Edit: Aka, yes we humans are in a sense hypocrites for not taking the choice god has given us to kill ourselves and let the bacteria live and "evolve".
The only difference is that bacteria do not have emotions and are innocent.

How is bacteria innocent?
Did I say my judgments were better than God's?
God created our bodies to kill germs by itself, so if germs and bacteria are innocent then God is killing the innocent. God said that man has control over the animals on the Earth what makes germs any different?

Do all the Christians in here believe Zeus, Poseidon and all the Greek mythology gods are real as well? What would you say to someone that said they believed in those gods? Would you consider them crazy?
I'd consider them mislead. 😉
Those "gods" were renamed.
Probably many more times than we will ever know.
Greek mythology, Zeus
Zeus was renamed Jupiter in Rome.
And on and on... 😉
God is not hateful to anyone. Did God tell us to kill each other in the streets? Did God tell us to rape and steal and lie and cheat? Did God tell us to do any of that? No. In fact, He tells us to do the exact opposite. To love your neighbor, to treat your neighbor's property with respect, to treat the opposite sex with respect, etc.
It's not God who made us fall into sin... Humans have a free will to do as they wish. They may follow God's plan of love and care, and spread the love and care, or they can kill and rape and steal and lie and cheat, and sadly, most choose to do the latter, which is why our world is so messed up now. It's not because of God, it's because of man.
There is only one thing that God hates: sin. Sin is usually marked by instant gratification, such as: You steal something, you're happy you have this new item. You sleep with your friend's wife, you "got laid". You get drunk, you're "buzzed".
However, it's no coincidence that they also have high negative effects. Theft leads to fighting and strife (which is why it's illegal). Adultery leads to ruined marriages and more fighting. Excessive drinking and drunkenness leads to things like cirrhosis and an inability to control yourself. Is it any wonder why God has outlawed these things? HE CARES ABOUT YOU! He outlawed them because He knew they would only hurt you and control you (which is where things like drug and sex addiction come from), drifting you farther from His love and kindness.
So don't say God hates you, He absolutely doesn't.

I could go on about all the other stuff as well but it has been done to death.

So you don't believe that god has a plan for us all, correct?
You DO NOT believe that god has a set path and destiny for us all, right?

Most people will lie or cheat at some point in their lives. Rape and killing happen quite a bit in some places. I'm sure if you had a way of accurately checking just about everyone would fall into at least one of those categories.
Originally posted by Symmetric ChaosLie I would say yes (from white lies to all out lies), cheat (from a board game to marriage) I doubt that it is more than half, rape and kill not even F'n close. If half of the people in the world raped or killed there wouldn't be a population problem. Even the place where crime is at its highest is not even close to the population of that state. Even if you look at New York and take all the crimes that happened in that city for a year and it is around 6% of the population, that is assuming that each crime is committed by different people.

Yes are their bad things that happen in today's society, there is no doubt but I get tired of all these people saying that the world is so corrupt and that people are bad when it is less then 10% of the population that is doing this crap and has been for pretty much all of recored history.
