Well the counter argument would be that people that go around saying "the end is nigh" usually don't get attention and there's no indication that Noah was given some sort of proof.
The fact that a drunkard was somehow able to build an arc of that size and complexity and the animals lined up two by two to board wasn't a good enough sign that something extraordinary was amiss? I might ignore a lifelong drunk holding a sign on the corner, but if he's got all the animals listening to him and working in cooperation I'd likely take a couple of minutes to check out what he was saying.
I realize that it's not an argument you yourself are making, I'm just pointing out the counter-counter argument.
