Victory-Class Star Destroyer vs. Modern Day Earth

Started by Lord Lucien14 pages

I don't really know. We know that highly ionized particles can penetrate an ISDs shielding and render it all but useless. And Star Wars has featured EMP before, but mainly against small, relatively unshielded targets like droids or fighters. Against a capital ship, if the blast is big enough, I think it would go through. But as far as I know, humanity has yet to develop something so miraculous, the exception being nuclear warheads, but again...

An ElectroMagneticPulse. Disrupts elctrical systems.

We... know 😖

lol.

i dont know if we (humans) have the tech that can create a pure emp with enough power to knock out a star destroyer.

but, in halo they have a gun that fires a 6000 pound chunk of tungsten at half the speed of light... i wonder how many of those a star destroyer could take. mmm

I was telling Polaski, th post lagged and took a while to actually post.
Ahh the MAC gun. What a wonderful weapon.

yeah the super mac gun in the most boss weapon ive ever seen. the sheer simplicity of it is beautiful.

is it pure tungsten? I thought tungsten was brittle... firing it at half the speed of light wouldn't crush/break it apart, no?

and the best weapon is the Masamune. lol

I also liked Karness Muur as a superweapon. just shoot Force Lightning at some random planet, and the lightning will cause planetary explosions. lol

its not pure tungsten so i dunno. i know tungsten has an extremely high melting point though so that makes it ideal for up against shields i guess.

These cannons fire a 3000-ton ferric-tungsten round at 40% the speed of light, impacting with a massive amount of kinetic energy, in the range of 21.6 Zettajoules (E=.5mv^2) which equals approximately 5867.5 Gigatons (5.8 teratons) of TNT. This is over 500 (523.8) times the combined energy of the world's nuclear arsenal circa 1982.

yeah it does have a really high melting point. That should mean that it won't liquify at high speeds from acceleration...

assuming it doesn't break apart as an alloy or part of some other metallic substance.

oh ic.

thats alot of power...

*stares at explosion*

where'd you get that from? i know the first half but the energy output?

A few days ago the USA (or at least I think, ie assume that it's the USA) announced the invention of a superlaser whose heat is capable of exceeding that of the core of the sun.

And if the ISD can't even be harmed by us, then isn't this a ridiculous spite?

Thats for the Super Mac and Halopedia under the subtitle "Super" Magnetic Accelerator Cannon. Second paragraph.

It might be spite but he did say he picked the weakest ISD he could think off and it wasn't intentional spite however.

Ridiculous? No. Spite, perhaps. Depends on the creator's intentions. At first glance, I felt it reasonable.

At first glance you thought mine reasonable, otherwise you wouldn't have claimed that the Empire wins (seriously; you did for the first several pages). And are you saying that if it's not intentional, then it's not a spite? In that case then, mine wasn't a spite because I sincerely did NOT intend for it to be a spite.

dude not this again... I thought we all agreed to stop already.

If no one stops, Bruce Lee will jump out of my sig and attack you all.

lol

For someone who's begun to plead for normality, you sure like to look for fights.

Yes we did; I'm just confused as to what the meaning of "spite" is. And once again Lucien, you quote my arguments but don't actually respond to them.

Back on topic, if Star Destroyer can be damaged, then Earth wins easily, if not, then Empire wins in a stomp.

Unintentional spite is spite that you didn't mean to occur. Intentional spite is done on purpose. Your Empire vs. Earth thread was spiteful, but your intention is what really matters. As soon as you said that you thought from the beginning that Earth would win, we realized your intentional spite. That's where all the hostility originated.

Bingo.
