Not really. The fact that it is wielded by already planetary telepath of the highest order...in eternal titan world and defeating her before receiving his upgrades from death makes that feat much more impressive.
But hey, you can also provide us with a statement i made that the gem is more powerful than every telepath in DC, right?

Despero is beyond Planetary in TP and TK. The Flame of Pytar is nothing to be dismissed as easily as you all seem to make it.

what you all never show is that Wolvi's slash did absoluty no damage. Remember this happend during the Infinity Gauntlet where thanod had toned down all his other abilities except strength to give the heroes a slight chance at defeating him. he did this to impress Death (who still showed cotempt at him for becoming her superior) . the caption says who would have thought that the one able to deliver the killing blow would be Wolverine, but it means nothing . then he turned wolvie's bones into rubber.

I can show Doctor Doom capable of similar feats, and he is just a beat up old man in power armor. And, DD has outsmarted Galactus and defeated the Beyonder, with just his brain.
I don't think Thanos, at base level, could do the things Despero has done.

Thanos will rape Despero like a redheaded stepchild. Thanos powers and abilities are beyond Deperso, Thanos is a damn skyfather his feats speak for themselves. With 10,000 years of experience Thanos has the edge in every catergory, Thanos by fare is more deadlier than despero hell he blew up a planet and wasn't even fazed. Thanos 10/10

Why make a thread where you think one charcter is sooooo far over the other? It doesn't seem logical that Thanos can beat someone with Nearly limitless strength, Tp and tk very easily. Despero is a beast. thanos would get more like 7/10 wins.

I totally agree. Thanos should get majority but Despero is underrated

Despero is one of the strongest Sons of bitches in Comics. He outclasses the tuffest like Superman and Thor easily in the strength Dep. His TP and Tk are on beyond planetary lvls. He's far superior than MM in Telepathy. And MM is at least equal to proff xavier. He's got insane speed and can fight his ass off. He's one of the best hand to hand fighters around. That is who Despero is.

Second of all, Thanos as a ruined character. He is the "Wolverine" of the cosmic-class characters.
We never worry for him, root for him, or wonder how he will be. Because, no matter how rediculous the situation, for some reason he comes out on top. And, the writers don't even try to explain in an intelligent way, as they do with Dr. Doom. They just have him do something he should not be able to do, and we are supposed to sit around and say to ourselves, "Well, I guess he just took a hit from Galactus, and he is fine. I guess that is because this Eternal of Titan has put some strong upgrades in his body, and has honed his psychic skills, or something. So, sure, he SHOULD be able to stand up to a blast from an Abstract Entity as old as the universe, and able to wipe out entire galaxies."

Actually, if I could erase all the crappy feats they have attributed to Thanos, he would be a great character, as he used to be. Just like Despero. One of the original quality villains.
And, I would actually say they match up pretty well together.

Thanos has beaten top tier beings on regular bases, Despero is tuf no doubt about it, Thanos will literally kill him. Thanos will out think Despero at every turn seriously, Thanos has shook the whole universe with a energy blast that made the universe scream. Thanos will take more like 9/10, he will give Despero a victory for the hell of it 🙂.
