~ Blackest Night - Discussion Thread ~

True. The entire goal of the tie ins is to show you that the Blackest night is a huge event happening everywhere. Though, they are all the same. Like Manjaro said, loved ones return from the grave and plague the living. Then they find a way to stop them. The first two tie ins were good (Superman and Batman). Now with WW, Titans, JLA, JSA, and soon to be even more, it's going to be the same. Hopefully, they keep it fresh.

It seems as if the only issues that are good are the main ones. They are the only ones moving forward.

That's all. The tie-ins just show you how big the attack is.

No, the goal of the tie-ins is to milk the hell of this event like any other. What was meant to be mostly a GL event is now a company wide event with tie-ins that are of no relevance to the core event really. The could have easily had devoted 6-7 pages of the 3 core books to show the effect of Blackest Nights happening all over Earth. Instead, they're milking this and that's it. It's almost no different than FC: Legions of 3 Worlds and FC: Rage of the Red Lanterns. But at least these tie-ins have some components of the main event i.e. the Black Lanterns unlike FC tie-ins mentioned.

Is it just me or are the Black Lanterns kinda dragged out and less threatening as the series continues? As badass as killing the Hawk's were, it's still far less interesting or as intense as when Vice broke free and killed one of the GLs, then proceeded to kill the Yellow Lanterns who are rooting for him? Mix feelings about the BL and Black Hand. It's Nekron revealing the revolving door of death that he allowed to happened that's upped the BL's as an interesting threat. Without that, it's just a bunch of zombies running around.

What did you expect? By the end of the event everyone and their mother will have killed a Black Lantern.

Just wait until the War of Supermen. Beating a Kryptonian will be as easy as 1, 2, 3.

Hilarious little Easter Egg from Blackest Night: JSA #1....

Spoiler:
One of the civilians the Black Lanterns kill has a name stitched onto his work uniform. It's "S. Rogers"

😂

Read GL #49....

Meh.

they pushed it too far

Christmas came early. Im about to read mines.

i loved Blackest Night 6. With most events, you get the impression that when they say "things will never be the same" that they're taking the piss.

with blackest night, i'm actually beginning to think there may be repercussions when this is all over...

WTF, it's out?

I thought it was for December 30th release only...

Retailers had to sign a contract agreeing not to sell the books early or something, iirc
