Well, I am certainly glad Spectre is no longer being controlled by a black ring. I'm also glad that he wasn't recruited as the rage entity. However, I don't like the fact that Spectre A.) fears the emotional aspects, or B.) that he cannot affect beings that are soulless.

srug

I think it's good.

I hope there was something recognisably good about the issue, apart from a consistent portrayal of Specters power level ? Its not something I'm that bothered about ?

parallax, sinestro, ganthet, and the last page.

Could you have made that any more ambiguous, without writing it in hieroglyph's ???

So apart from the fact that Spectre power levels are maintained, I know that parallax, sinestro, ganthet appeared in the issue. Well thats a massive surprise !!!

Sorry I'm not giving you the benefit of the doubt here ...

you've also informed me it has a last page... THANKS.

It is a kick-@$$ issue...a bright spot in a rather tedious series that repeats itself over and over...

So if you have enjoyed it so far, you will really like GL #51.

To be fair, no one remembers the fact that the Sinestro Wars were the same, until the last few issues.

For me, that wasn't true.

SCW didn't have dozens of redundant tie-in's. And every issue seemed to not only have stellar action, but also moved the story along with each issue.

Compare to Blackest Night. We are getting ready for issue 7, and Nekron (the big be-all/end-all of this story) hasn't done a damn thing except look menacing thus far...

I agree. A lot of it is just dragging on. Sc was great because it got to the point, a lot of stuff happened quickly, and it was over. Dragging this stuff out with all kinds of pointless tie ins has me lost interest.

This is almost Identical to the Anti Monitors role in the Sinestro Corps.

I hazard a guess you read the original in trade form ???, or you've just completely re-written history in your head.

Well that pretty much warrants my theory on sieve memory.

I like both this and SCW. Sinestro Corps was a much faster pace and the threat of the Anti-Monitor was huge, throughout. But that doesn't undermine Blackest Night in any way. For me, Sinestro Corps was Star Wars, Blackest Night is Night of the living dead meets Star Wars.

Huh, what?? drylaugh

You can't be serious...SCW had like what? A total of 6 tie-ins??

BN is up to (not including GL or GLC) 49 TIE INS AS OF THE END OF FEBRUARY!!

So, no...it didn't.

Well! That was informative! Consider me rebuked! baha

Which did you enjoy more so far anyways?

that would be true if all the tie ins were in fact redundant, which they weren't/aren't.

Of all the tie-ins (not counting Blackest Night itself or GL and GLC), I liked the Phantom Stranger, Atom and Hawkman, and Power of Shazam ones the most.

I didn't say EVERY tie-in was redundant.

But out of the 49 extra books that tied into BN, most were.

49 is overkill, no?

The Secret Six was my favorite tie in, followed by Superman and Titans. Overall, everything about the issue was spectacular. The worst would definately have to be Wonder Woman. What a waste of paper, money and time. Seriously, her true love is Bruce Wayne. You've got to be kidding me. I almost barfed while reading the issue. 😘

Yeah, I didn't mind the WW tie in up until that part. Especially considering that in her own main ongoing series she more or less admitted to falling for Nemesis (cool char, btw).

I'm undecided and probably will be until I've read both in their entirety. I loved the epic battle at the end of Sinestro Corps War, especially the scenes where the Guardians take on the Anti-Monitor and Superboy prime, but there's also something to be said for the initial shock factor behind Blackest Night #1 with the death of the Hawks. I literally jumped.

How about you?
