STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Liberator

Not in the evening lounge. In the main lounge, yes. But they will also be covered by blast shields.

It's closer then the exit. To the main lounge!

You can actually get out of the exit through the main lounge; it is just that if you wanted to get to the kitchen, that was what was between you and it.

Wentar makes short work of the next blast door in his way, letting it fall into the main lounge as he steps through with the Senator. It seems serene, but you can see a thin haze coming from the ventilation.

Senator Farl just coughed up blood on his sleeve.

Ah! Time to cut down the exit and let Farl out of this place.

Can Wentar see what's releasing the gas?

Nope.

What exit are you making? The window or the door?

Now that I think about it, the window. If I cut open the door the gas will just spread to that room and there will be no end to it. I'm sure the gas from this suite wont mess with the whole planet.

Then Wentar drives his lightsaber through the nearest window and cuts a hole, just about the time that the blast door to the comm room swishes open suddenly... and a violently coughing Emso tumbles out.

There is a knock at the front door.

"Don't come in, the suite has been gassed!" Wentar shouts to whoever is knocking on the door. "Get security and a hazard team, fast!

If there is decent footing on the other side of the window Wentar will guide Farl and Emso out there.

Being the top floor, you can get Senator Farl and Emso Crubo up onto the roof of the suite and away from the poison gas, in the fading sunlight of Coruscant.

After a moment, you hear the front door of the suite hiss open. A pair of Senatorial guards wearing gas masks storm into the suite with their blasters ready.

Scan the guards. I wanna know if they are hostile like last time. No force point uses, just a roll.

Scan says... the guards are worried! And looking for the occupants urgently. They do not pose a threat to you.

"Master Jedi," Emso says. "I-I have something for you."

Farl is getting his coughing under control.

"We are over here!" Wentar shouts, waving to the guards before giving a concerned look to Emso. "What do you have?"

The Senatorial guards come to the hole you've cut and alert you that they are, in fact, the guards who had been knocked out and impersonated the day of the bombing. They came to give you their thanks, and have been assigned as personal bodyguards to Senator Farl.

"Looks like we arrived just in time!" one of them says.

Emso gives you another tape.

"It came just after the attack..." Emso says between coughs.

"Indeed," Wentar says. "Not a terrible way to start off your new assignment."

Taking the tape Wentar looks it over. "Thank you Emso, I'm sorry I wasn't there to help you just now..." Less then a day back from the hospital and another attempt is made... these assassins are relentless, Wentar thinks.

Turning to Senator Farl. "How do you feel Senator? We should get ourselves checked out before doing anything else... Who knows what else this gas could have done."

You are slightly concerned that the assassins sent their threatening message after the attack began... but at least you got out of there alive.

"I understand, Master Jedi," Emso says. He feels relieved, but still very nervous. You are beginning to think it is just how he is.

"Yes, I suppose we must," the Senator says. He notices the tape in your hand. "What is that?"

The Senatorial guards- Nartholen and Walder- go to radio in for medical assistance, but their comlinks are jammed, as yours were.

Ya know what, a quick Scan on Emso. No force point, just to satisfy my curiosity.

"A gift from our attackers," Wentar says, pocketing the tape. "I intend to view it when this is over."

He frowns when the guards try to use their comlinks. "I don't think the worst is over yet. Lets make our way to the ground floor."

Emso is feeling very anxious and agitated... and guilty about something.

"Yes, please do," Senator Farl says, looking between you and Emso before going back into the suite.

The poison seems to have dissipated when you go back into the apartment. Even so, the Senatorial guards give their breath masks to the Senator and his servant.

The 'ground floor' on Coruscant is metaphorical; if you actually went to the ground floor, you would be entering areas that have not seen the light of day in thousands of years, all but abandoned by society. The Senatorial guard has you take the stairs to avoid any mishaps with the elevator. It seems that the security override happened in the whole building, but the poison only drifted into Farl's suite.

I think we'd be safer down there. 😛

Wentar wants to find out what was causing the gas and get the comlinks working.

Is there anywhere we're required to be? Like a meeting ground during a fire drill to make sure everyone is present and safe?

We should also get someone with medical knowledge up here, just to be safe. I assume the suite has the equivalent of a phone. Farl might know someone he trusts, he can make the call.

Though again Wentar doesn't want to let the Senator out of his sight, not until the security system is back in friendly control.

Checking the ventilation system would require heading into the basement of the Senatorial suite complex. That is also where the security system is located.

Nartholen and Walder will make sure that the Senator gets safely away from the suite complex, blasters at the ready. Senatorial guards are tough customers, so you can feel secure leaving the Senator with them.

All communication devices are currently jammed, personal or otherwise.

Alright then, Wentar will go down to the basement to check up on the security system first.

Personally this second attack has forced Wentar's hand, if Farl isn't going to get someone to investigate these attacks then Wentar himself will look into it. As he told Emso, Wentar can't keep this up forever, someone has to put an end to these assassinations.
