STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Liberator

"Excellent. If you would like, we can watch the prisoner transfer on the security cams."

"Not a bad idea."

Looks like Wentar will have to settle with watching the show via cam.

The day of that the prisoner transfer is to take place, Senator Farl suggests that you relax on the entertainment lounge floor, where you apprehended Emso. He clicks over to the security channel and accesses the camera feed for the street-level entryway to the basement.

"It won't be terribly exciting, I'm afraid," Farl says. "They are bringing him in an armored speeder, head covered and hands cuffed, and then leading him through the basement to the lift."

"I'm not looking for a show. Just want to keep an eye on this transfer, see how things like this are handled on Triskatan," Wentar says, taking a seat and watching the screen.

"Of course."

It is not long before Farl's outside view of the entryway reveals an armored and covered landspeeder glide up to the doorway. A thin layer of Triskatani liquid retracts and the doorway opens, allowing the speeder to hover inward.

Farl changes the cam again, this time providing an inside view of the parking garage in the lowest level of his Tower. You see Drufter and groups of security guards waiting there, pistols drawn but not really standing attentively.

"They don't seem too concerned about anything going wrong," Wentar comments.

"There are many of them and one of him," Farl says. "I can't imagine that he'd be able to break out of his bonds..."

The landspeeder slides into the parking garage, then slowly turns about so that the rear hatch is facing the surrounding policemen. Beyond it, the garage door closes and seals.

"I personally think he's not as big of a threat as Chieftain Drufter makes him out to be," Wentar says. "He wasn't exactly being subtle, trying to stall this transfer for as long as possible."

"What do you mean?" Senator Farl asks.

The rear hatch is beginning to open.

"This transfer took way too long to occur, Chieftain Drufter seemed to have a 'reason' for the delays ever time I asked," Wentar says. "It really seems like he doesn't want me to see Emso at all."

"I..." Farl starts to say, when something happens on the screen.

When the hatch on the landspeeder opens, Emso is thrown out of the vehicle and lands heavily on his front, bound and gagged.

Wentar frowns as he watches Emso's treatment. "Despite what he's been accused of doing, he's still a living being with rights damnit..." Wentar mutters, before turning back to Farl. "You were saying, Senator?"

You get to "living being" before you are cut off by a sharp volley of blasterfire from within the landspeeder that immediately smacks into Drufter, knocking him off of his feet. The police recoil and dive for cover as men in black armor and masks emerge from the vehicle...

Wentar jumps out of his chair, staring helplessly at the screen. "I knew I should have been down there..."

Does Wentar have a way to alert the rest of the building about whats going on down there?

You can sound the alarm via a computer interface on the wall. However, you notice immediately that an emergency protocol kicks in, something intended to occur if the Chieftain were rendered unconscious or terminated. Lockdown! Doors start to close and seal over with Triskatani liquid.

Obviously Wentar is going to stick with Senator Farl right now. Is there anywhere we can move to before we're sealed in?

Unfortunately not. Wentar has the kind of speed required for that, but his ward does not.

Then, as much as Wentar wants to help, he will stay. Protecting Farl comes first.

Still, at least we're not blind. Lets see what the security feed has to show us about the situation so far.

Things immediately turn against the security team as the small team of assassins flood out of the speeder- five total, all clad in black blast armor with gas masks and packing blaster rifles in a bullpup configuration. Two throw down spherical devices that open up and extend energy fields for cover- vastly superior to the random assortment of crates and speeders and junk that dots the garage.

One makes his way for the fallen body of Drufter, receiving covering fire the whole way.

Emso squirms on the ground, trying to inch himself behind the energy fields.

Are there any fixed defenses in the garage?

Who is next in charge now that Drufter is down?
