STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Liberator

"You want to go CLOSER to the assassins?!" Farl asks, distraught. "Are you trying to get me killed?"

"It's either this or we try our luck against the defenses of the Detention block," Wentar responds.

"Why stay here at all?" Farl asks. "We could flee. My shuttle is still docked with the top of the Tower!"

"And where would we go after that?" Wentar asks. "How far do you intend to run? You told me Triskatan was the safest place to be, prove it to me and help me take control of this situation."

Farl seems flabbergasted; you think he genuinely did not believe that this could happen. Now he is not even safe in his own personal vertical city, let alone his homeworld.

"YOU take control of it!" Farl snarls. "I am going to the ballroom!"

Would Wentar be going against his mandate if he heads for the office to retake the 'city' while Farl goes to the ballroom?

Your mandate merely says to protect him; harder to protect him when you are further away, which is what Drufter and Farl have been exploiting to keep you from doing certain things for far too long.

Well I'm gonna head for the office on my own then. It's technically an action to protect Farl.

Farl, of course, starts whining about how you are abandoning him and it is against your mandate.

"Farl, if we sit and do nothing we'll end up trapped with our foes banging at our door. We need to get a head of these invaders and we can only do that in the detention area or Drufter's office." Wentar says, his patience with the Senator finally reaching it's limits.

"We won't just sit like trapped rats, we'll be figuring out how to get away in the shuttle," Farl says. "Going closer to my enemies is the worst idea you've had since you started working for me!"

"At least my ideas involve trying to put a stop to these assassins instead of running away, hoping they will just give up and leave," Wentar retorts. "We wont be able to escape in the shuttle if they take control of the tower and the more time we spend arguing about this, the less time we have to resolve this situation."

"So what is your overall plan, then?" Farl asks, folding his arms.

"We get to Drufter's office, disable the implant's security, trap and contain the invaders then coordinate with the rest of security to detain them," Wentar replies.

Farl sighs heavily.

"I hope you know what you are doing," Farl says. "Let's go."

Wentar just nods and starts heading for the office. I hope so too, he thinks to himself.

Which returns your attention to the extensive flight of stairs that you need to descend to make it to the security office in the first place, each set of stairs interrupted by a pair of laser walls at the top and bottom.

As mentioned before, it is scaleable if you were to jump over the side, but that is not something Farl can do.

Can it be disabled? Perhaps if Wentar worked on it on one side and Farl from the other?

How is Wentar's Fix-It score? These laser walls are designed to resist tampering but a decent enough roll could shut it down. Not a very quick route, however.

Farl also offers that he has no technical prowess whatsoever.

"Machines never made sense to me," Farl says. "There's a reason I went into public speaking and politics in school."

Low, Fix it 1.

Seems Farl and Wentar have more in common then they'd like to admit. =P. Could the device be saber deactivated?
