STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Liberator

It is. Plenty of places to ambush from, since Presence makes up for Wentar's lack of Intrusion.

Then that will be the place we should go. Obviously Farl should hide in the shuttle area. Could I get a recap on the layout of the ballroom?

The ballroom takes up an entire set of floors, and so is a massive room at the very top of the tower. It is cylindrical in shape and the bottom floor has a dance floor, various pieces of furniture, a stage. Above, walkways criss-cross and all meet at the center, with lifts and spiral staircases between little dining booths, all set within the walls.

The lifts, of course, aren't working. Nor is the horde of turrets installed in there.

So the only way up are the staircases? Any viable place where Wentar can hide and wait for the assassins to show up?

They are the only way up for normal people, at least. Wentar can hop between them easily.

Any number of places, really!

Can Wentar hide in a walkway above the entrance. That was he can just drop down and cut off any exit off the get go?

Yes you can!

Farl is going to hide on the uppermost level of the ballroom, wanting to be able to see the action and determine whether or not he should run for his ship. He does not intend to shoot at his assailants unless he determines it will end things.

Sounds good. Still no sign or word from the Security Teams?

When you enter the main stairwell to begin your long and tiring ascent to the top of Farl's Tower, you hear the zing of blasterfire down below...

How far below?

Are you looking down to check? It does not sound terribly close.

Wentar will look down as he ascends, biting back the urge to go down and help, knowing the fighting would be over long before he got there.

Indeed, it is too far below for you to participate... but not for you to see!

On one floor, members of the security team have barricaded part of the stairwell and are posing a resistance to the upward drive of the masked assassins. However, they are just not cutting it against the five assailants that have invaded the Tower.

Two of the assailants move forward, spraying lasers into the light defenses that the team has set up. The security personnel panic and target these two, losing some of their number to the spray; the assassins narrowly avoid bolts from the light pistols before the security team is picked off with accurate bursts from the other three, including their leader.

In a short time, they have the security team on the run.

Wentar cringes as he watches the security team get pushed back. "So much senseless death," he mutters, turning away from the battle and continues to climb the stairs.

Have they spotted us or at least seemed like they were on the move towards us?

They are moving up the stairs. They did not see you.

Farl has trouble keeping up with you due to his lack of a decent physical build, unlike Wentar who, though tired, makes it to the bottom floor of the Senator's Ballroom without too much trouble.

Inside, only the emergency lighting is on. It is very dark even with it.

"Here we are," Wentar says, looking around the room. "Quickly Senator, get to those stairs. I'll be staying down here."

Wentar will move into position above the entrance and begin waiting.

Farl scampers off to hide, whilst Wentar himself hides...

It is a tense thirty minutes of waiting as the blasterfire from the stairwell grows closer and closer, coming in spurts as the assassins meet resistance and sweep it aside. You sense death and dying all the while.

Then... the emergency systems provided by an independent power generator within the Tower allow for the door to whoosh open. Hidden in an alcove above, you watch as one by one, the assassins move into the room. They have lost one of their number, leaving three lesser assassins and their leader, the Assassin that made that first sniping attempt.

"They must be going for Farl's speeder," the Assassin says, his voice garbled by the mask. "Spread out and take the stairs. Kill the Jedi if he resists, but the Senator is our target."

Can Wentar sneak up on them by the stairs or it that area too open?

You will lose your opportunity to attack whilst they are all together if you try hunting them while they move up.

Alright. Wentar will drop down immediately and attack the closest lesser assassin.

Cutting first talking later is not usually Wentar's way of doing things but the day, hell the whole assignment, has take a tole on his patience.
