STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Broken

Ilamik shakes his head.

"If it was just Arneth...he seems more like me, more combat-oriented than anything else," Rianna says, frowning. She'll use Sense. "Unless he's more powerful than I think he is, then I think it might be possible to undo this..."

Vera-Kin nods to Rianna and turns to Ilamik, who is still twitching uncomfortably on the floor. She reaches out with the Force to touch his mind, trying to put it at ease before she attempts to exert her persuasive power over him.

"You can talk to us about what Arneth told you to keep secret," Vera-Kin says, waving her hand and closing her eyes, trying to be cautious with the miner's mind. "No harm will come to you, and you are safe with us."

Vera-Kin reaches out the Force again... Ilamik's mind is far more impressionable than Nehmen's, making it easy for someone with even a small amount of talent for Mind Tricks to change it. But Vera-Kin masterfully sidesteps Arneth's alteration with four successes and mends Ilamik. The miner calms down and looks up at you, the confusion and anguish fading from his features slowly.

"I... I can talk to you about what Arneth wanted to be secret," Ilamik says, slowly. "He told me he wanted anything I knew about him to be kept from people like you."

"And what is it that you know?"

"Where he was, who he talked to," Ilamik says. "The guy showed up at the Stain and kinda hovered around until he came to me. Like I said, he claimed to know my troubles and offered to help. He wanted me to kill for him, though... didn't say why, just said that I should. It would make the miners happy, that's for sure. Also mentioned that I'd be the start of something..."

"What you would have been the start of would have been nothing short of disaster in Ine," Rianna replies. "What troubles exactly did he claim to know about? And was there anyone else he spoke to?"

"He said he understood that I was more desperate than most," Ilamik says. "Like he sensed it as easy as reading a book. There were a few others... I don't know their names, just their faces."

"He must've been seeking for someone with great desperation," Vera-Kin says, "and found you in the Force. Would you be able to show us who he talked to if we provided images?"

"Yes, but I won't go back to the Stain," Ilamick says. "It's not safe for me there. He'll kill me."

"Perhaps those records I got from Hirget will come in handy," Rianna comments.

You would have to check.

Nehmen knocks on the door at this point, to let you know that curfew has hit and the Jedi need to leave. He apologizes for interrupting but asks that tradition be honored.

"We'll return in the morning, then," Rianna says. "Would it be possible to place this miner under protection? We've reason to believe that he may be in danger now."

"He's in the Fort, can't imagine how much safer we can make him," Nehmen says, somewhat smugly. "But we'll keep watch."

You return in your landspeeder to the starport, parking it just outside the doorway. Colby is cleaning his pistols on the entrance ramp to the Viloc.

"Everything going well I hope?" he asks. "Haven't seen anyone since you all shipped off to fight crime."

Barker growls, asking if anyone needs to keep watch and if he can volunteer.

"Well enough I suppose, we have some information to go on, I think," Rianna responds. She mostly wants to take a look at the records she has now, since she doesn't really sleep much...and particularly doesn't want to have her visions bothering her again right now.

Vera-Kin will ask Barker to stand watch over the ship, to make sure that nothing happens to us in the night.

"Let's check those records before we retire," Vera-Kin says to Rianna.

"That was what I was planning on doing," Rianna replies, pulling out the discs.

You pop the disc in for the records of past criminal offenses by miners. It is expansive; miners are plentiful on Ord Coridari and so are their offenses. Most of them are minor- it is EVERY kind of offense, including parking tickets and the like- and searching through it takes time. However, you come away with a bunch of names. These miners were arrested for trying to incite riots in the Astrune Quarter.

Oh, goody. That will be a nice start indeed.

Rianna also wants to look through Astrune's info, when she gets a chance.

It contains mostly what you know about her already- her training in martial arts, her immense wealth, her family history. You do glean from it that she quite literally owns most of Ine. Her most recent acquisition was the Coridarian Tribune, a news media group.
