STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Broken

Then the two of you reunite at Fort Ine! Vera-Kin with her prisoner and Rianna with her data.

Sunset is on its way and when you return, Nehmen greets you and reveals that once night falls he is afraid you must return to your ship as only military personnel are allowed in the Fort at that time.

He is also curious about who Vera-Kin has brought with her.

"I assume this has something to do with the incident you mentioned?" Rianna asks, seeing Vera-Kin's prisoner.

"It is," Vera-Kin explains. "This miner was duped by one of Rand's students into trying to assassinate Dame Astrune. I stopped him before he could get himself annihilated, came under fire myself. No casualties, though. I did get snapped by a photojournalist in the process, I'm not sure why."

"If that's not proof that Rand is behind the unrest here, I don't know what is...but why?" Rianna replies. She pulls out the discs that Hirget gave her. "I do have criminal records for all of the registered miners, though, I thought this would help in identifying who to watch. As well as Astrune's background."

"Perfect," Vera-Kin says. "We will have to look at that once we return to the ship. In the mean time, help me with my prisoner..."

Vera-Kin wants to take the miner inside and secure some sort of room for interrogation from Nehmen. She knows that the miner is only a pawn and does not want to go hard on him, but she wants to find out what he knows and what Arneth promised him.

She will also share the name Arneth with Rianna and try to do some research on the man.

Oh, and I suppose Rianna should share her encounter with Rand's other student with Vera-Kin, too...

"The miner will need a lawyer, if you plan on interrogating him," Nehmen says when you ask about securing a room. "I understand he assaulted you and was trying to kill another, but the law is the law. I can have a lawyer brought in tomorrow."

"I have no plans for having him arrested," Vera-Kin says. "Anything I do get from him cannot be used in court if I do so without the presence of a lawyer. This man has been fooled, he deserves a second chance."

"He presented a firearm and employed its use against a figure of law enforcement," Nehmen states. "Regardless of why he was doing so, he still did it. Proper etiquette is required for criminals."

The miner is not happy about that news, you sense.

Hmm... does Nehmen seem like he could be Mind Tricked? She will Scan him without spending any points, just wanting to get a better feel for Nehmen's mind.

Rianna's just going to wait and watch this one 😛

Vera-Kin will try it, then.

"You want me to interrogate the miner now," Vera-Kin says, "to prevent further criminal outbursts."

Vera-Kin tries her Mind Trick... four successes!

"Actually, I want you to interrogate the miner now," Nehmen says, as if it were his idea. "It could be useful for preventing further outbursts like this one. I'll arrange a room for you do use."

"I hope you don't mind that I want to be present for this..." Rianna says quietly to Vera-Kin.

"Not at all," Vera-Kin says. "You can help if the miner gets physical."

Vera-Kin will proceed to the room that Nehmen has arranged for the interrogation.

"I want to get him to talk about what he was doing with the Dark Jedi," Vera-Kin tells Rianna. "He's only being manipulated, he's not the real threat. But anything we can get from him can help."

Vera-Kin will also tell Nehmen to put patrols the Astrune Quarter to look out for the Dame.

"Any little bit of information we can get will be helpfu," Rianna says in agreement, following Vera-Kin.

Nehmen arranges for a small unused room to be used, though he seems very confuesd in the process. The miner is brought in and sat down before you on the chair, handcuffed.

"I don't understand," he says. "I thought I needed a lawyer."

"I am going to be honest with you, miner," Vera-Kin says. "You were played. However that man had promised to help you, he did not intend for you to come back from your assignment."

Vera-Kin lays her lightsaber down on the table, next to the blaster that she confiscated from the miner.

"I think you deserve a second chance since you were manipulated, and getting a confession from you this way is unlawful, and so void of use in a court hearing. So let's start at the beginning; what's your name?"

Vera-Kin is going to keep Sense going throughout the interrogation.

Rianna will also use Sense, keeping a close eye on the miner.
