STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Broken

"I'll be fine. I just...don't want to think about it anymore right now," Rianna says.

Vera-Kin will nod and retreat from Rianna, turning to Barker.

"It's fine," she says, pulling on her outer robe. "We should get back to the Fort, to check with Ilamick about which miners the Dark Jedi have talked to. We don't have much time to dally, the sooner we get this done the better."

Rianna will sit by herself a few moments longer, trying to push the images from the dream out of her mind, before pulling on her own cloak and following after Vera-Kin.

Vera-Kin is going to have Barker come with us again btw. He's good to have around with the diminutive Vera-Kin and the lithe Rianna. Definitely going to be useful in the bar, or at least keeping him nearby if trouble starts.

Haha, at first I misread "lithe" as "little" 😛

But yes, that is probably a good idea.

Moving right along, then.

When you arrive at Fort Ine, you are not granted immediate access. Instead, Lt. Col. Nehmen comes out to greet you with some armed soldiers, and he does not seem particularly pleased with your arrival.

"I need to have a word with you, Master Vera-Kin," he says, firmly.

"What is going on?" Rianna asks, mildly confused.

"What seems to be the matter?" Vera-Kin says. Scan on Nehmen.

"You interrogated a prisoner without legal representation," Nehmen says, "and in the process of doing so, have rendered him unable to be prosecuted. Furthermore, you duped a ranking officer of the Republic! The General recognized what you did when I reported your actions under the pretense that nothing was amiss."

He is pretty upset, moreso on a personal level.

"I'm afraid it was necessary for me to do so," Vera-Kin says. "I realize what I did was unlawful, but that man deserves a second chance. He is helping us with who the real threats are as it is; I feel he should be given some sort of bargain anyhow."

"Be that as it may, your actions were unwelcome and I do not appreciate being tricked so easily! The General asks that you not use your powers against those who side with you, and this is your only warning."

After that, Nehmen withdraws into the fortress and allows you access to Ilamick, who has been kept contained in relative comfort for a prisoner. This time he is much more willing to help you with your investigation into the mining guilds and those who wish to incite violence. He peruses the list of names and faces that you give him to work with before he pins one that he remembers particularly well- Dalt Brernon, arrested for conspiracy to riot, property damage, and possession of an unliscensed blaster.

"He's who you want," Ilamick says.

And so you head over to the Stain in your military speeder... come up with your approach to this, it is important!

Hmmm, so how do we want to do this? I'd rather like for Rianna to remain as inconspicuous as possible, personally. She's not much for dealing with other people, anyway.

I feel like maybe we could have Rianna skulk around somewhere unseen just in case things get messy, but hopefully that won't be the case.

Vera-Kin plans on going in with Barker- he is fairly obviously but it will give her an intimidating edge as he is a walking carpet of death. And she will hide her lightsaber and subtley use the Force to influence her Presence amongst the miners. If this Dalt fellow isn't immediately apparent, she'll ask around for him quietly, not wanting to arrouse suspicion or spook him.

That's what I was thinking - hopefully it won't come to that being needed, but just in case.

Plus she's still just a bit jumpy anyway.

Maybe we could get a layout of the Stain first before we go planning on breaking in for Rianna? 😛 *nudges Rex*

Possibly a good idea 😂

Or Rianna can just slip in, hopefully unnoticed, before Vera-Kin and Barker enter. Find somewhere she can chill, keep an eye on things, and hopefully stay out of the attention of those in there. She's a sneaky girl, she should be able to pull something like that off.

You won't go entirely unnoticed; Intrusion is more for breaking and entering and sneaking up on people than being inconspicuous in a social setting.

The Stain is a two-story building that is fairly low-tech in appearance and nondescript, made of drab unpainted duracrete and a red-shingled roof with a cheap flashing sign that gives its name. People are hanging about on the uncovered front porch when you pull toward it- Barker stops down the street, not wanting to be too blunt with your approach.

Hmmm. Maybe Rianna should just stay outside and out of sight, then? I kind of want to have her sneak around to the side or back of the building if possible. Somewhere that she can keep an eye on those who are coming and going.

That is more your thing than skulking around a bar, yes. Not to say that you couldn't sit in the bar comfortably without problem; people come through all the time. You just would be noticed as they are.

Yeah, definitely. I'd just prefer that Rianna remains unnoticed as long as possible, and all things considered, it would probably be a good thing to have a lookout right now anyway.
