I also had the Shadow Behemoth spawn right after I logged on tonight and I happened to be over by Godslost Swamp, so I got to do that event. That was awesome.
Aaaaand I made it past the story quest I was stuck on before. Yay.
So we were joking that we wanted friendly fire on.
For the finale, they had enemies branded by the Shatterer all over Ashford Plains, and if you were defeated by one, you became corrupted by the Shatterers power yourself and got to kill other players.
It was the best thing ever and I was cracking up the whole time. The Shatterer flew over the map a few times though I never got to see it myself.
It did start about 15 minutes late on mine. And we never made it near Rytlock; waypoints where he was kept going contested and we were on the other side of the map.
I'm annoyed because while this time fraps didn't crash on me, I just realized now that I must have accidentally stopped recording after I had turned - so all the video I have is a massive player vs player fight, and none of running around slaughtering people as a corrupted. I'm uploading it now, it should be done in a few minutes; I'll edit it in then.
I didn't make it to level 30, but I was close to 27 by the end and I completely finished Queensdale and Kessex Hills. Hoping we still have these characters next time because I've become a bit attached to mine 😂

"Unfortunately, the final event didn’t automatically start like it was supposed to across all servers (normal and overflow). We had devs jumping between servers trying to start the event for everyone but we weren’t able to give you all the full 40 minutes we had planned for the event. I’m sorry that not everyone got a chance to experience the branding event. You all have been a tremendous help to us this weekend, I just wish it could have ended better for you. Thanks again for your feedback and helping us make Guild Wars 2 a better game."

Yeah...no. It's been confirmed that it's coming out this year. They've taken prepurchases on the game, there's already been two public beta events (with a huge amount of changes between the two), it's been shown off at countless conventions (and thus far they've been skipping cons this year in order to finish up the game). It's definitely coming out.
And insider info my ass - if anyone here would have anything like that it'd be me, being as I regularly talk to a large number of people on the dev team, have interviewed a few, etc...
There are no such rumors, you're just making things up simply to troll.
