Guild Wars 2 finally starts to come to life

Well, the game is live 😄 And I managed to get nearly every character name I wanted, including the one I was really worried about being taken.

Yay!

So, because we're ridiculous, a few of my friends and I decided to see if we could just run to Orr at a low level.

So right now I'm sitting in Sparkfly Fen, which is a level 55-65 area, at level 3.

We got about halfway through that zone before we decided to call it a night, too 😄 I got killed by some level 60 undead while trying to outrun a champion undead shark 😂

Everyone else on our ventrilo server has been dying laughing at the three of us just freaking out at everything coming at us.

Game is having severe EU problems right now- log-in times are huge and the HoM link to GW1 is not functioning.

While game went down for everyone about half an hour ago; just taking a break right now.

Game is completely dead at this point. That's launch for you!

Well, my siblings are making their characters now! Katie is, predictably, making a charr.

(I told them the game was on and they asked "is it just a beta? Or is it real this time?"😉

Now it appears my friends list and stuff isn't working properly - when I go in the guild panel it says I'm not in any guild" (so much for inviting everyone right now like I planned to) and almost everything on my friend list is just "...".

I need to take screens of all of my characters...

Is there anyway to give the armor the appearance of the town clothes?

I'm not actually sure. People have been asking for that ability though, so maybe they'll implement it somehow.

Know of anyway to sheathe your weapons or do you just have to wait?

They do automatically after a while, also switching to town clothes and then back will do that.

I'm using you as my guide for anything not told in game from now on.

What's the race/class of everyone's main?

Sylvari mesmer.

Ush is playing a human guardian, if I remember correctly, and I know that GK is currently having lots of fun with a human thief but I think he intended his main to be an asura ele.

Yeah, I was trying to decide who to play with first and went with the race I experienced least in beta. I have one for each race.
