The automatic makes all the difference in the world, man. An HK submachine gun fires roughly 700 rounds per minute. A 30 round mag will be emptied in a little over a second. One damn second, 30 bullets flying at Batman at the speed of sound (roughly). You're an educated guy, figure it out.

When McClane kills people, they are tag on the toe dead, no question, but in that instance, he didn't have time to ensure it. Here, Batman is gonna be on the ground, "playing possum" as you so eloquently put it, and, when he stirs, McClane empties anew mag in to him. It really is beyond simple, dude.
Riggs had a pistol, not a machine gun, and the flamethrower dude clear had armor that was WAY superior to Bat armor.
And what were the conditions of the battle? Did they know Batman was 10ish feet away from them beforehand? Or did he sneak up on them without them seeing him first.

Batman, who is here to nutralize the Terrorists, the ones who have the Automatic weaposn to begin with, sees McClane with one.
Now even in Dark Knight, though we are not using this here, Batman sees the Hostages dressed like the badguys. but they have guns. Even he first thinks they are the bad guys until he gets up close.... His first reaction was to neutralize the one with the gun. And since Dark Knight is the same Batman in Batman Begins, of course he would have the same mind set...
So he would first off Neutralize the guy with the gun.... I dont care how good McClane is, someone who has never heard/seen Batman will take a moment to go Wtf?!
Its not a factor of how fast a bullet goes. Its a factor of wether or not McClane will be surprised at seeing Batman. Even the badguys in Batman Begins go Wtf? And no you cant say they are diffrent because they had a lower mind set then McClane. You try to put McClane off as this, "Not Surpirsed by anything" guy. He isnt. He is human and will react just as any human would. Im sure if no one heard of batman and he crossed your path EVERYONE in KMC would take a moment to go WTF and McClane is no exception.
Batman on the other hand, who doesnt have to do the WTF factor, sees a Terrorist with a gun, will Neutralize him. Batman wont kill McClane ut he will beat the hell out of him.....
Now lets say McClane DOESNT go wtf?... Its not a factor of how fast the bullets go still. Im not saying McClane is walking around with the gun pointed down, but in the time it takes McClane to RAISE the weapon and take aim and pull the trigger, WHICH is NOT the speed of sound, Batman would have plenty of time to take cover.
I would like to see you argue something other then "McClane simply guns Batman down." If you can give me another way McClane wins then I will look at that and Perhaps I will change my mind.
It's Batman, he is well known amongst the police, surely McClane will recoginze him. Fraction of a second, maybe, for it to register in his mind "It's Batman." No "wtf", see?

the armor worn in Batman Begins is bullet proof.. no bullet will penetrate it... Batman loves jumping off rooftops and buildings and he also glides through the air.. Batman is also very fast and cunning a whole lot more than McClane.. He will not just stand there like you want him too.. As soon as both see each other McClane is not the only one that will spring into action.. Batman will as well.. Please stop denying that
