This as a thread is really revealing.... I dislike both DC and Marvel at this point...but i have always equally treated them the same.....i valued certain aspects of each of the big 2,this is just the Marvel haters pushing the Marvel lovers buttons.....i just get surprised at the reactions from some members......of course this looks like a good move,but the proof will be in the near future

They're stupid teenage girls, who cares WHAT they think? I agree that it'd be frustrating, but so what? That's separate from comics. Bandwagonners are not new, neither is Marvel. It's not some underground thing.

Also, reading "a few" comics doesn't make you a fan either. You aren't thinking about what you're saying.

People did that with Spider-Man, X-Men and other movies that ALREADY exist. So why do you care just because the name is "Disney"?

i still think it's amazing that the entire marvel franchise was purchased for 4 billion dollars. i'd have guessed it would have been worth quite a bit more for some reason.

i think most of you guys are looking at this the wrong way.....it would seem to me that for $4billion it would be easier to just start a new company from scratch, than to buy one then pull a complete 180...i refuse to believe that Disney saw the current state of comicdom and thought "gee lets clean up the industry and make it more family oriented"...i also refuse that they thought one title was to edgy or violent and this is thier massive conspiracy to have it canceled.

Obviously with such a large investment you have to realize that thier thinking long term, its not immediately gonna be about churning out more movies and watering down content...str8 off the top of my head, i can think of them not having to pay any extra licensing fees for airing all those Xmen, Fantastic Four & Spiderman episodes on thier XD channel..Also, if you live in FL like i do you'll know that Universal studios has one-half of its theme parks consisting of a few Marvel Attractions:
The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man
Incredible Hulk Coaster
Doctor Doom's Fearfall
Storm Force Accelatron

they have a Shrek attraction also, and guess what they have aqcuired Dreamworks, if memory serves.
and they have an awesome comic book store that only sells Marvel comics and collectibles, so again str8 off they have a major stake in thier competetion, and Universal is gonna have to cut them checks

fact: Disney has been cashing huge checks from little girls for yrs(see miley,lindsay,raven symone, hillary), now is the time for them to chase after the little boys too, and the jonas bros alone cant carry them thru 😆

Like I said earlier, Marvel was purchased for $50 million back in 1987. Being worth 80 times as much 22 years later, that sounds pretty good.
