Makes as much sense as
"Disney kidified the halloween and Hellraiser series."Because apparently Disney kidifies everything their subsidiaries do.
But Disney said that part of the reason why they wanted Marvel characters was to try and get more boys and teens as a part of their audience. Halloween and Hellraiser were not launched as something that Disney wished to benefit from in any other way but financial. It's the same with Marvel, only they wish to reel in more younger males.
Disney won't be using the Marvel the same way they used those particular titles. They've already said this. A Pixar/Marvel crossover is inevitable apparently.

Baby stuff... 🙄 Or you know, just keep marvel doing what they're doing. Since you know Marvel has the market they want.

It's teen and LOWER.
Regardless, teen stuff never ventures into R or M-Rated.

This is why you're on ignore most of the time. You purposely ignore my points and try to start arguments. Whether this is because you have nothing better to do, or actually because you can't conjure up any actual defence, remains a mystery.
My point was awfully simple. I never claimed that Disney wasn't trying to make money off Marvel. This is something you're forcing in. Disney will try to make money off Marvel in a different manner than the films you continue to post over and over. How do I know this? Because Disney's already stated who their target audience will be, younger boys and teens.
Pixar/Marvel crossover movies is just the beginning. Since their target audience is awfully young, the odds of more adult-oriented comics making it are slim. The MAX titles aren't selling that well, many were left hanging, and there's no reason why Disney would spend money on a target audience they're not interested in. It doesn't matter if they HAVE financed adult-oriented movies in the past, that's not what they're planning to do with Marvel. They're planning to make money off the younger audience, as they've stated in their interview with Marvel.com and BBC already.
There's no reason why this would ruin big-selling Marvel titles, which I never claimed. It just proves that there's no way that older adult-oriented movies is any proof that Disney will continue to finance mediocre-selling adult titles, when it's not the audience they hope to reach through using Marvel.
Now it's back on ignore.
i watched last nite's rerun of Attack of the Show this afternoon and hardwick interviewd a guy who gave his 2 cents and he said that this is a good thing for marvel becuase those 5 remaining movies they have left to do with paramount they didnt really have the money for anyway..seeing as how we all know that marvel waz on this tiff that they wanted to pay for everything themselves so that they could reap 100% of the proceeds...apparently he's some kind of industry insider and he said that the only thing Disney might do for right now is shelve Thor, for which production was supposed to start in Jan...and the Capt. America movie might not see the light of day either, becuz of the same budget constraints....
me personally i can live without a cap or thor movie...so the point is that comics is not gonna be thier main focus its movies. cuz even from the most objective, logical, clear headed point of view one must admit that the spiderman franchise is the only saving grace for "Marvel Studios." Daredevil super bombed, so did the first punisher...warzone wasnt too bad but it didnt translate into box office gold. the FF movies only recouped the money they spent in the first place, the Xmen movies were marginal at best in terms of quality and how much money they made..though i admit that X2 is my favorite. so it wasnt like they were consistently smacking them outta the park or anything on thier own anyway. so i dont see the downside of having the largest media empire in the world in your corner.
Another bonus to having Disney take over is the fact that they are the DVD giants in the Biz..as evidenced by the fact that every 5 to 10 calendar years they "go back into the vault" and re-release one of thier old classics for a "limited time" fully remastered and evrything and they sell shitloads of copies even though most ppl still have a VHS version somewhere in thier house, so imagine whats gonna happen now when Marvel release another straight to DVD feature, there are gonna be Ads in every Bus stop, Subway, Magazine, Billboard, and fast food chain....there is gonna be all sorts of grab bags and giveaways and radio promos and 30-60 sec. ads on tv with high production values...why? becuz Disney's money is as long as a horsecock, so above all financial stability is what Marvel gets out of this...nothing to freak out about

Marvel Shareholder Sues Over Proposed Disney Purchase (Update2)By Sophia Pearson
Sept. 1 (Bloomberg) -- A Marvel Entertainment Inc. shareholder sued in Delaware court to block Walt Disney Co.’s proposed $4 billion acquisition of the comic-book pioneer.
Marvel directors failed to conduct an appropriate sale process, shareholder Christine Vlatos said in a complaint filed today in Delaware Chancery Court in Wilmington. Vlatos seeks a court order barring the deal as well as unspecified damages.
“The proposed transaction does not appear to adequately value Marvel’s shares or serve the best interests of the company’s public shareholders,” Vlatos said in the complaint, which also names Disney as a defendant. “Disney, with the board’s complicity, appears to have capitalized on non-public information about Marvel in offering to acquire the company.”
The purchase, announced yesterday, would pay Marvel investors $30 plus a 0.745 share of Disney stock for each Marvel share they hold. Disney, the world’s largest media company, gets more than 5,000 Marvel characters to market in movies, theme parks and on television.
Rob Steffens, a Marvel spokesman, and Jonathan Friedland, a Disney spokesman, didn’t immediately return phone calls seeking comment.
Marvel directors stand to gain millions in benefits from the deal including the triggering of cash payments associated with stock options and change-of-control payments, Vlatos said in her complaint. Marvel Chief Executive Officer Isaac Perlmutter, who controls 37 percent of the company’s stock, will receive almost $1.46 billion from the deal, according to the complaint.
Poison Pill
The company changed its so-called poison-pill plan as part of the proposed transaction to exempt Disney, Vlatos said in her complaint. That will make any competing offer “prohibitively expensive,” she said. Marvel previously amended that plan, which is set to expire in September 2010, to exclude Perlmutter, she said.
The protections for Disney’s offer include a $140 million termination fee and a provision giving it the right to renegotiate deal terms, Vlatos said.
Disney fell 36 cents, or 1.4 percent, to $25.68 in New York Stock Exchange composite trading. Marvel declined 67 cents to $47.70.
The case is Christine Vlatos v. Sid Ganis, CA4850, Delaware Chancery Court (Wilmington).
