that would make perfect, simple sense.

Hopefully Ares doesn't die. Then we'd have to go through the whole resurrection storyline and those have been done to death.

Siege #2 Preview: Ares Vs Balder! Looks like Ares' in for whooping!

Ares won't die, I don't think. That'd be a shock to me.

Spoiler:
Remember his convo with Fury regarding Phobos? I think his son is going to be the main factor in him, if anything, switching sides
.

As for who will die...

Spoiler:
I think it's gonna be Ms. Marvel, sadly. I've really grown to like her as a character over her on-going and The M.A./N.A., especially since Civil War. Her on-going comes to #50 soon and I hear it's getting cancelled...so that'd be a good choice if they did it right. Shame, though, because if I had to assemble a definitive post-Siege line-up for The Avengers, she'd be the chick in it
.

Guys abt Norman's secret weapon. Why can't it be Atum the God-eater. It is right to have the God-eater against gods. And Atum does have a more humanoid form.

Probably a way, way off guess, but does anyone remember the end of "Secret Invasion: Hercules," in which Mikaboshi becomes lord of all the thousands and thousands of Skrull conquered gods?

I very much doubt that is what it's going to be but that would be cool as hell.

He recently added the Shi'Ar God pantheon to his empire. A nice little mini of the war between the Gods and Mikobashi would be an awesome event for this year. A four issue mini with Thor and Herc as tie-in issues.

Starring your lovable god of mischief Hercules leading a all godly cast consisting of Thor, Ares, Amadues Cho, Athena, Balder the Brave, and the warriors three.

The current mighty avengers storyline include a cosmic cube empoered Absorbing Man.... Could it be him?

It's probably Iron Fist.

an avenger is going to die? is that what was said?

Well Bendis said someone big was gonna die. He also said Ares would play a major part in upcoming issues.

Ares is a big enough character to have a dramatic impact, but not so big, it'd be like killing off Wolverine, plus Ares is heavily related to the events of Siege, being part of a Pantheon himself.

On top of that the previews for issue 2 have

Spoiler:
Scenes of Ares looking between the Asgardians and the Dark Avengers, whilst fighting Balder. It looks like Heimdal is sneaking up behind him....

I could see them killing Wolverine off to be honest though, very unlikely since he seems to not have any part in this siege event.

I don't think they'd kill off Wolvie, my point was that Logan's too popular to kick the bucket for a significant period of time. With Ares, I doubt there would be anywhere near as much fan backlash, but he's in the limelight enough recently for his death to have an impact and be considered a major death. He's the perfect candidate for Bendis to kill off.

I know you did not mean that they would. I actaully thought he was a possibility myself due to the fact his ongoing was taken over by daken and they could easily killing him off.

I could see bendis killing off Ares.

I still think it'll be who I said.

With regards to Norman's secret weapon, remember:

Spoiler:
We don't know the gender of his other kid yet

My guess for the death is Maria Hill. With signs pointing towards Cap getting in charge of Shield, she seems like she doesn't really have much of a place anymore. Plus, the artwork previews for Siege 2 show Hill attacking Ms. Marvel, Ares, and Osborne by herself with nothing but a rocket launcher. Hill: a well known enough character that it would be a big death, but not big enough to really change much. A perfect "Issue 2" death.

I hadn't seen previews because I don't read them.

Thanks for that. I wanted the WHOLE comic to be new to me, now only some will. Just what I wanted.
