Siege: Invasion of Asgard [ Disscssion Thread]

So yeah, if this continues I am just going to hand out warnings and bans. Nuff said. There is really no need to prove who is the top ****ing dog here; you're on an internet forum. If you don't like someone, just avoid them. Pretty simple. Ignore option and willpower is all it takes. If you feel someone is harassing you, come to me or another mod and tell us exactly what is going on. Do that instead of this match of 'who can piss further.' Because that nonsense just gets threads closed, people warned/banned, and everyone unhappy.

If I have to come back in here, warnings to all involved, regardless of who is at fault. I've said my piece, don't make me repeat it or I'll just close the thread.

Pretty sure you just answered any questions about whose top dog around here mate.

He clearly just said it's not about that.

But he did imply it, with a certain sense of Irony:

"Alpha poster" conflicts are irrelevant and forbidden, so says one of the Top Dogs"

Heh, that is kind of ironic. Not intentional, mind you.

But if we could please get back on topic...

You know how someone mentioned Normans son being the secret weapon? Well

Spoiler:
I'm not sure about that, but could the Hood be retconned into Normans son?

"The staggering conclusion to the SIEGE arc delves into the Hood's secret relationship with Norman Osborn and how it will affect the stunning outcome. "

Nope, impossible.

Spoiler:
The Hood was there when the secret weapon attacked Doom
.

glad this got back on track so tell me fellas what makes everyone think the avenger thats gona die isnt a "young avenger", "secret avenger", "dark avenger" or "new avenger"?

True. I still hoping for a big reveal rather than it being the Sentry. The build up to this Secret Weapon of Osborne is intriguing so if they pull it off and deliver us a plausible and unsuspecting individual, this will be one of Dark Reign's biggest highlights.

For you maybe, but I happen to be glad with what seems to be the major revelation in the last issue of Dark Avengers.

Bendis is not good at doing the last minute "gasp", revelation like Geoff Johns or even Mark Miller. His specialty lies in character development.
If he tries to over complicate things with a Usual suspect esq revelation, the story is going to sink like the Titanic.

For example, look at what happened in Final Crisis ? Very few accepted Morison introducing the "big bad" of the story in issue 7, with no justification (especially if you hadn't read Superman beyond).

IMO Morison should have spent more time fleshing out the New , New Gods and maybe had some kind of physical conflict, rather than bring Mandrakk into the equation.

IMO Siege is a parallel example.
We have a perfectly suitable "secret Weapon" who has justifiable motives for working with Osborne and still requires a lot of fleshing out as a character. If Bendis is finally going to provide the goods, he's not going to have time to do the previous, successfully resolve this plot development .... and then carry out a 180 degree SURPRISE !!!!!! tactic, similar to Final Crisis ....He's only got 4 issues !

Spoiler:
Most importantly of all; the fight we have wanted to see happen since 05, is inevitable. Sentry/Void vs Thor fight is almost certainly going to happen .... Also the first few pages of the most recent Dark Avengers, means this fight could have a divine consequence more profound than anything that happned in Marvel before ... Very Interesting, although highly unlikely

I've just realized how retarded the spoiler thing is ... Cos this post clearly demonstrates that your reading underneath them. If we are doing it for your exclusive benefit, the least you can do is not read them ???

It's not retarded because it gives people the choice.

Besides, nobody knows who that character is, so his post was clearly speculation.

I knew that before reading it.

Two claims here
1.) Spoilers give me a choice-not to read
2.) Spoilers in regards to speculation are not necessary ?

I will come back to claim 1.), later

In regards to claim2.)

The speculation was justified with incidents that took place in a comic; that you couldn't have been (J.T.B.) aware you had read.
In other words, it could have spoiled a plot development you were unaware of.
So to claim you were justified in reading it, is false

If you claim you read spoilers in regards to speculation; is it not rational to suggest we do not maliciously police spoilers, that justify speculation ?

In regards to claim 1.)

Its true that it provides the Kmc poster with a choice to ignore potential spoilers. But, based on your flimsy justification of reading this previous spoiler, it doesn't seem you're taking advantage of this arrangement.
This is ironic as you are one of the only proponents of it. This give credence to my previous claim that you don't really give a crap about plot developments being spoiled- you just want to be vocal about a controversial issue for egotistical reasons.

True this doesn't confirm my proposition, but it does support it !!

Speculation that by now, all of us should have been expected to read. I'm not saying you can't talk about something that happened in a comic months ago. That's not spoiling.

No, it's not false.

I am aware of all plot developments right now because I've read everything involving Dark Reign. Thus, it was speculation regarding something that might happen.

I never once said speculation is something to be hidden. Welcome to the forum, where reading posts is awesome.

Posting massively revealing solicits and spoiler content that, once known, spoils a comic? Yes, that is to be intently policed precisely because you can't take it back once it's happened.

I'm not the only one, people here do agree with me, regardless of if we're out numbered.

I read it because I knew it wouldn't contain a spoiler, I was correct and therefore I was able to answer a question for someone.

Nah, stop being completely wrong.

Welcome. I can see you're gonna continue trolling me so I'll let it go for now. I'll accept you admitting you were wrong above, as I've proven, and we can move on.

Keep at it guys, keep at it.

Well to be fair I put the tags around part of my post because I was quoting the Siege April Solicit.

Avengers April Solicits:

It's common courtesy to keep things in spoiler tags. It doesn't require much effort the arguing and ego inflating is pointless. And so what if AC reads a spoiler it's his prerogative, the point is it was a good idea as it's a small amount of effort and keeps everyone happy.

Additionally, if I read one and spoil something for myself, I'm to blame. It's MY fault, nobody else's. You can't choose to unread something though.

In an interview with Bendis, he said

Spoiler:
Osborn's secret weapon would be revealed in Dark Avengers. The preview for the Sentry issue of the Dark Avengers tie in has Norman call Sentry his "Secret Weapon"

Iron Man needs to pay though.

He attempted to clone Thor. You don't just wash that away with a nice rescue attempt and sweep it under the bridge. He fugging cloned him.
