i like it.. i was referring to other things about the show..

I see

I stopped watching after the second episode... but not because I didn't like it, I just haven't got the time to do so... the second episode was an improvement over the first, I hear the following episodes have gotten better.... I got some catching up to do

Yeah, episode 3 was the best if you carry about story and then fighting.

I'm a little upset that the nudity is waning but this show is the ultimate guilty-pleasure.

Watch porn if that is all you are interested in. Although the last episode had full male frontal and several topless women as well so not even sure where you find it is waning.

WTF are you talking about, we got plenty of cock-n-balls this last ep.

I mean compared to the first two episodes. Consider that back then, we had:

- Batiatus and Xena fcuking like rabbits (I.E. Xena now uses pasties)
- Elf from LOTR and Ilythia (I.E. Now all she does is complain)
- Spartacus and his wife (IE. Yes, she is gone but you get the idea)

I know, was just having a laugh. This last ep was overly gay-erotic. French guy's junk right in our faces, then French guy's Spartacus' ass thrown our way while they wrestle naked with snippets of cock-n-balls thrown in.

Not to mention, the full on butt-****ing scene between the brown guy and the slave-boy in the previous ep.

The male-on-male eroticism has definitely increased. I don't really have a problem with it. It would be cool if they balanced it out with Ilythia, etc. though.

Do you guys think Spartacus' wife is alright or do you think she has been subject to "100 Roman ****s" by now as Crixus put it?

That's because you're gay 🙂

Not sure, I'm also on the fence whether Batiatus is really looking for her or not.

Uhm..it takes one to know one? 😎

I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't looking for her either. He has enough on his plate without having to devote resources on some dude's wife.

Cuz I am sure that's what you like to see considering your avatar 😛

I feel like HBO's Rome was Watchmen and Spartacus is some Dark Age imitator that focuses too much on sex and violence and not enough on the in-depth themes solid mature shows are known for.

Rome was/is superior; too give them credit here though, the opening disclosure says something like 'this show tries to portray the very sexual and violent society ancient Rome was', ie that's specifically their angle here.

If you read up/look into ancient Rome, it was a very, very sexual society. I think Pompeii had over 20 brothels (so far unearthed) and sexual cravings were littered throughout the city, as posters, art and murals are found in cities of today.

Really?. The one thing I found bothersome was the over-excessive use of sex scenes. Good to hear they're toning it down a bit.

Nudity =/= Sex 🙄

I'm aware of Rome's cosmopolitan attitude and it doesn't bother me that there is lots of sex and violence. It just seems to me like they use it as filler or a way to keep the interest going because they can't garner enough interest in the primary storyline.

That's what I am trying to relay, the sex and violence is the main story-line; that's what this show is specifically going for. It's mostly eye-candy, substance coming in second.

Ah, ok.

Hmm well I suppose I can't fault the show for being what it is. If I modify my mindset and look at it as action packed guilty pleasureentertainment with lots of hot chics, I think I can make it work.

IMO, when the director, producers and writers got together, I think they started out with the aspect of 'sex and violence in ancient Rome'; then built a story around that. Silly, but it is what it is.

While the show Rome was built around the lives of two commoners and how their lives were affected by [some] historical events; some sex and violence was thrown in for entertainment.

decent, but sad ep tonight

I hear there was an orgy going on.... 🙄
