STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Chains

"Vlad! Get over here now and help me deal with Nelgrin! Leave the pirates to Loj'oon's men!" Wentar orders at Vlad, before turning to engage Nelgrin.

Swap out block and attack Nelgrin, regardless of initiative.

Your challenge is to match Vlad's Willpower. Wentar is a very charismatic man but trying to command a Jedi that is going haywire is difficult. You manage three successes, just one short.

Vlad whirls around and blows away more pirates instead.

You dive in to protect Loj'oon, driving your lightsaber into Nelgrin's side again for 10 damage.

He rather promptly brings the hammer around into your ribcage and you (along with a pair of pirates) are sent crashing into the hard metal wall of the corridor.

Loj'oon clambers to his feet while his men... are turning to run! Some of them have started fleeing back down the corridor.

Am I able to retroactively use Staredown on Nelgrin?

Unfortunately not! And now you are down with SEVERAL broken bones.

Damn.

If Wentar is able he will sound the retreat. Unless Vlad has a change of heart Nelgrin will tear those pirates apart and I have no idea how much hp he has left.

The retreat is sounded then. With nothing between him and them, Nelgrin aims to continue after the freedom fighters, and Loj'oon in particular. But something distracts him momentarily, long enough for the pirates to start their fighting retreat.

Vlad shoots him once in the shoulder before ducking into a lift. Nelgrin chases after him.

It is Loj'oon that pulls you away from the fight.

"That was a disaster," Loj'oon says. "What happened?!"

"I don't know," Wentar groans. "Vlad's... There's something wrong with Vlad. I need to talk to Altar about this."

"Where did he even go?" Loj'oon asks.

"Into one of the lifts, to hunt down more of the pirates I think."

"That sounds terribly reckless," Loj'oon says.

"Indeed and that worries me," Wentar sighs. "I shouldn't have involved him, he's become unstable."

"Get it sorted," Loj'oon says. "I can't have a rogue Jedi ruining everything I've worked so hard for."

Okay! Forfeiting the mini-battle has no effect on the numbers.

Getting your Charge bonus, your total was 135 against the Srum's 110. Since they have an Armored unit, it locks in at Evens. The rolled result is a 2- the Attackers win! Your retreat has left that part of the station vulnerable, and the Srum are starting to use the lift shafts to get men up into the Lower Quarters.

Your units in the area take hits as they try to hold the area for you.

The Srum will be on the offensive now, and Wentar is out of the fighting, meaning there is no opportunity for a tactical response to whatever they throw at you.

Reports are coming in that they are trying to get the lifts back online- they had rappelled up before.

And there is no sign of Vlad.

So I can't move units during this turn, correct?

Also Wentar wants to inform Altar of Vlad's rogue status. What's his reaction to it?

No.

Altar is perturbed.

"Unfortunately I don't know Vlad well," Altar says. "What can you tell me about him?"

"Not much unfortunately," Wentar says.

"He was a student of Master Windu I believe. A bit of a hot head, but nothing like this... He has been on edge since Nar Shadaar, I think. Something was said between him and the slaver Marl Ademiro, but I never found out what."

Wentar curses. "I should have seen this coming."

Altar narrows his eyes.

"Marl Ademiro?" Altar says. "I know that name. How does Vlad know him?"

(Took me awhile to find out if Vlad actually told me this.)

"Vlad told me that he was once one of Marl's slaves, back when he was still a child," Wentar says.

"I see," Altar says. "How was he freed from slavery?"

"Marl was caught," Wentar says simply, he frowns for a moment in thought. "Maybe I should give Trikistan a call and see what Marl knows."

"Caught by who?" Altar asks.
