Thanos vs. Quasar

Your "if Quasar could do this to Thanos with the IG he sure as hell could do it to Thanos without the IG" is pretty obviously incorrect, as again, Quasar was amped by Infinity in that instance. If Thanos can take unshielded blasts from Tyrant and Odin, you thinking that Quasar, who is SS's inferior, being able to blow his head off is absurd.

To answer #2, he allowed Quasar to do it.

You haven't proved that he was amped by Infinity. Even so, Thanos withIG>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Infinity. So that proves it was more of Quasars own power that did it than anything Infinity gave him.

Lastly, toying with someone doesn't decrease one's durability. Sure in a real fight Thanos might not give him the chance but certainly the writer intentions wasn't to make Thanos purposely lower his durability to the level of a soft pillow.

h1, I'm just going to ask: do you think Quasar set off a construct inside of Thanos' skull, or do you think, like I do, that Quasar simply blasted him on either side of his head as the art depicts?

That must've hurt. Who knew Quasar could be so brutal?

For Enyalus, Well I would say definitely inside Thanos skull. Maybe the energy traveled through his ears (or head) to the inside before it detonated.

Just facepalm for this whole thread.

How did it go through his suit magically?

Enyalus, Quasar directed his blast through both of Thanos ears to blow up his brain, dangerous attack.

I don't think he was trying to puncture Thanos ears, he was blowing up his head, brain and all.

facepalm His ears are covered up, unless you're claiming the yellow-construct-like depicted by the art was intangible...

Quasar was detonating the blast right between Thanos ears i.e. he wanted to detonate his attack inside Thanos' head. At least this is his intent.

His suit? No his head or ears. Energy can travel through matter. You didn't know? It can also travel through ear canals too.

And Thanos should win this contest almost all the time, but people shouldn't rely on ABC logic involving SS. Quarsar may just be more brutal considering his attempt to blow away Thanos brain here.

I'm asking you to tell me how he did it. Was the yellow energy of his construct intangible to go through his suit now? Do you honestly think that?

That's another issue entirely. Are you arguing that Quasar can't direct energy through Thanos ear canal? Radiation can get past those ear plugs Thanos was wearing, unless said earplugs had a defense for that level of radiation.

If SS cannot come close to putting thanos down with his poweroutput quasar is no way in hell doing it regardless of his supposed brutality or whatever ur talking about.........this thread is just full of fail

I'm saying a) based on what it looks like (the spikey lines of the yellow energy up against his head and the two curves next to Thanos' head look like the construct hits his head solidly) that explanation is unlikely and that b) he's never done such a thing before or since to my knowledge.

And if b) is actually the case then my interpretation [namely a)] seems most likely. In which case, the blast hits on either side of his head and blows it off. And if that's true you can't seriously believe that that is Thanos' normal durability, since he has survived far worse.

Gruenwald had a fued with Starlin, because "Infinity Gauntlet" usurped "Cosmos in Collision" (the superior story, in my mind) as the summer cosmic crossover event. That's why Starlin wrote that scene in which Quasar gets his hands blown off, where he's little more than a joke.

I haven't read Cosmos in Collision but just about anything would have been better than Infinity Gauntlet. At the beginning of Starlin's hyped up event the villain already has his ultimate power, so what does the guy do? Toy with the heroes.

I honestly can't believe they green lighted that event at Marvel.

I think it damages his head precisely because most of the blast is directed inside his head. We're talking about basic energy radiation here, not hard light constructs like what GLs throw around.

His brain is vulnerable. Also you rarely have people actually being this brutal in mainstream comics. Superman could burn people's brains out with heatvision directed through their eyes, but it's something that was considered in only a couple of issues.

People could use nanites to destroy some of these super durable guys as well. There are alot of things that aren't applied that could be effective.

Who would've thought up The Atom getting beamed through Darkseid's shields via his eyes before we actually saw it happen in Rock of Ages?

Intangible energy?! Now you're just talking crazy!

'Cept if you've seen any Quasar, you know that's exactly the stuff we're talking about. Anything the rings can do, the Quantum Bands can do better.

Yes, yes, and Surfer can put black holes in peoples eyes and expand the orbit of their molecules to discorporate(?) them. No one actually uses it in a debate until it happens. And based on the scan in question, I don't think it has.

...Anywho, even allowing for the ultra rare "quazar putz teh construkt bom in his skul!!!!" line of thought, Thanos still takes 10/10. Especially if I'm allowed to pull one-time abilities Thanos has used. 😈

Speaking of ignorance regarding Thanos it only seems fitting you show up to attach yourself to whatever argument takes a shot at him. You didn't read the story obviously so really you are just jumping on the hater bandwagon.

...and?

You're going to need more than "my boy was just fooling" to form the entirety of an argument that he altered the base composition of his physical body to make himself less durable.

Well, if you read the ig storyline you'd realize he was against all of the regular heroes. He didn't feat defeat by any stretch of the word until Surfer almost grabbed his glove. At that moment and that moment alone did he really get serious.

Who cares whether you liked it or not. It's a lot more memorable and popular than fc so leave your opinion out of it and stick to the issue at hand.

Thanos was obviously fooling around and this is why it makes perfect sense. Any being with logic involved could shoot energy blasts at someone's eyes and defeat them that way but for one it will have to be a direct hit and for two fights in comics don't happen that way. It's about as ridiculous as saying someone puts a blackhole in your ear.
