Heh. That's actually not bad. People LOVE their high heralds.

Because otherwise, yeah, it's been rehashed a LOT. And there's really only about a dozen tourney-worthy HH's before you get into obscure picks that are only good for maybe 1 specific power, so a lot of similar combos have been made throughout the years.

lol, fair enough.

I know it's been done before and probably a bit old, especially to the vets here, but maybe a High Herald tourney would garner some attention and interaction? Kahn (where the hell is that guy anyway?) and Batdude's tourny was pretty cool. I'm a fan of any tier, but honestly the High Meta-to limited Low Heralds category has the most available power-sets/characters to choose from.

Especially if someone opens it up to other mediums outside of comics - which would be an amazingly large headache for the organizer/judges but rewarding for the contestants/readers.

I'm always coming up with draft picks, even when there is no tournament, and I have a few non comic (TV Fantasy in fact) characters I've thought about trying out and I'm sure there are others (people who have repeatedly said so) who would appreciate the ability to branch out - even if its just Asian comics/manga.

Edit: Oh and Digi. I hate you. For that one time. disgust

i like your ambition, but it was a blatant piss on the rules

Thank you. 👆 You are aware I entered with intent to troll the tournament, correct? Plus, let's not kid ourselves. Evangel screwed up alot of things rule-wise in that tournament. Hell, she changed the rules mid-tourney. She did not run a good tournament. durno

Don't forget using Waverider for his temporal perception.

It was a good plan, but Evangel's crappy rule set up screwed me. I mean, why make it so you can't use something you can build in prep? I get buying the powers. But I can't get credit for fabricating some crazy piece of technology in prep? No time travel, even if I can get it via prep or technology I have to build. Kandy, you're still an ******* for screwing me out of the Moebius Chair. 😛

Um, I screwed you out of the moebius chair? I had nothing to do with that.

Yeah, I figure High Heralds usually have a lot of support and interest as a whole and threads/debates concerning them seem to garner the most activity. Mixing it up with Low and Mid Heralds would keep us from getting the typical Surfer/Superman/Thor/Green Lantern drafts and make things potentially more interesting.

That's not a bad idea, either. I know I'm personally more knowledgeable about the Herald class characters than anything, which is why I suggested what I did; I'm more interested (and available) to debate/compete rather than organize or judge anything at the moment.

Though, a Low/Mid/High Herald tournament with mixed genre characters allowed could see a lot of activity, too.

another mixed-genre eh...... interesting

Somebody who's particularly eager to run a tournament should get a rough set of rules put together and take advantage of the current interest.

hint noted, but if i make it i'm limiting the shit out of the herald selection process

if you meant jake...carry on. (if you want to team up and host, i'm down, when two people host they turn out better)

I really would consider hosting, but as of now, I can't devote nearly enough time to do it justice. Judging would be dicey as is, too. I'm just expressing interest in something I know I'd want to participate in.

But it's definitely something I'd be interested in as a whole, though.

I'm actually always willing to host, but might not be able to for the foreseeable future. I'm barely even a mod these days with how little I make it on.

thanks for sharing.... j/k

i want to collaborate with another person willing to host, just so the ground rules are concrete

Herald tourneys are actually my favorite.

Just sayin.

who else wants herald level?

might as well play to the crowd

i might do herald. wouldn't play in a mixed genre though. too many unknowns in the mixed genre. can't tell the bs from what's real.

There is no way i have time to compete... but i am free for judging when needed.

Yeah, I'll participate with heralds, though I'm kinda wary about cross genre stuff simply because my breadth of knowledge isn't too great on stuff outside of comics...and Dragonball Z, I guess lmao.

But I'm game if we get this rollin'.

F*ck cross-genre.

Sorry, I don't speak in a language of subtleties.

Alright, I've got an open word doc at home where I am going over some better explanations of this, but as a taste:

Themes and Unused characters!!!!

both will be semi-mandatory, and there will be prizes for those who choose and follow the best theme and those who use the most underused and rare characters!

blam!
