Godzilla (2014)

The thing in the thing looked a lot better than the thing in the thing...and that's why you don't name a prequel of a movie the same damn thing!

Too goofy-retro looking. It must be a joke...

Looks decent enough to me then again its only a picture from some new book.

I hope that's the Godzilla we get for this new film, thing is though the trailers for the 1998 Godzilla film were f*cking epic, the trailer where Godzilla steps on a T-Rex's skeleton in a museum for sooooo cool...then the movie came out 😬

To retro looking? So you don't want it to look like Godzilla?

My god, that looks perfect. That short of them freefalling with Godzillas spikes in the background are epic. I cant wait to see who he fights.

Eh, save all the Godzilla shots to blow us away in the theater. I'd rather get a few shots of the havok he's caused to get me hyped.

Trailer looks pretty good actually. I liked the whole intro sequence. Very nicely conceived.

Intro trailer has me intrigued.

Looks good

wonder if they'll show off some of the other Godzilla foes that are supposedly in this movie in other trailers down the track.

That theme is Giorgi Ligetti's Requiem, seen in 2001.

I remember when I was around 6 or 7 and I'd watch monster marathons with Godzilla in this on halloween. I think I first saw it when I was around 5. Godzilla was like the titans or a dragon, but the scary thing was that he's in the modern day so it's easy to understand why he's scary (9/11).

I think that scene with the drop they are trying to poison him with that red smoke, if anyone has seen the original film that how the get him in the ocean. But this is even better, he's still in the city lingering around with any survivors demoralized under his shadow. Maybe they're just trying to break the clouds. It's fitting, Godzilla comes with his own storm and darkened sky, like the Chinese dragons.

^ Cool story.
