We're getting off track here, **** precog, **** force choke, this is the current argument:

Exactly. And as you pointed out earlier, HP wiki says that Protego is an 'energy barrier'.Now, if HP magic is stronger than the force, then the energy that is the force should have no way of trumping a shield charm, which is an "energy barrier."

Here's what I am getting at. Harry is well trained at shield charms, he taught Dumbledore's army to use them. Protego Horriblis is a variation of a shield charm. In all likelihood, Protego Horriblis will protect Harry against any and all force attacks.

You can't block a Force Choke with any energy field, even a Force energy field. It directly squeezes the neck, and the only way to stop it is to distract or hurt the caster.Vader on the other hand can block any spell directed at him that's visible.
The force IS energy, according to Yoda. The force choke is energy. According to HP wiki, a shield charm is an energy barrier. And, as we have established, HP magic is stronger than the force.
get it?

So Potter get's prep and he's allowed to come into the fight already shielded? Is this what you're going it?
Regarding your "magic can block the Force because it's stronger" angle, Vader choked someone possibly light years away who he could only see on a viewing screen. Can magic do anything like that? (This is why I said magic is more powerful in specific applications.)
Originally posted by RobtardUm, no. But it takes maybe a second to cast a shield charm, dude.

An accomplished wizard can cast a shield charm without needing an incantation. Harry is accomplished at shielding, makes sense he can do this.

The Force is energy, but the Choke is a telekinetic grip on your throat, it's crushing your wind pipe directly, so a shield won't do anything.
And don't go trying to bring up moot points...those spells are more versatile than the Force shown in the movies, but not more powerful overall.
Oh, and has the shield charm ever been shown blocking a force choke?

Vader force choked the guy from light years away because the force is ubiquitous.

Force-precog, Vader will sense something he can react to it right before it happens. Force-pushed right into a tombstone, should clean Potter out.
Did Potter do this in the films?

OK, when has the force choke ever TRUMPED a shield charm?

Apples to oranges. I agreed that magic is stronger in specific applications (in the films). Need to be somewhere, magic can TP you. Need to start a fire, magic can start one, etc.
But you're talking about which is the greater power overall. Vader choking someone from a very great distance speaks volumes of the out-put of the Force.

Potter cast shield charms, yes, he waved his wand and uttered "protego." No, he never added the word "Horriblis" to it. Add on the extra word, done deal.
He was accomplished enough that he was able to fend off death eaters, Voldemort, and teach Dumbledores army. It's his forte.
Originally posted by RobtardVader force choking that guy from across the galaxy was a simple game of connect the dots. The force is everywhere, he simply applied his will and the force did the rest.

The force being everywhere doesn't help him here.

So Potter never actually cast this spell you think will net him a victory here?
Dude, just stop. You'll gimp-horse Vader to ridiculousness, yet break basic rules because it benefits Potter.
