MK drop off the radar for me after MK4, I think I tried DA like once... didn't really liked it. Barely heard about the ones afterward.
MKvsDC was promising, but I haven't played it more than 4 times I think.
If it wasn't for the demo, I wouldn't have really cared about this game at all, methinks
Funny story. I was watching movies at home with my friends 2 weeks ago. I showed them the demo, both my girlfriend and my friend's gf looked in disgust when we pulled Fatalities and X-ray moves. I drove my friend and his gf to his home. When I came back my girlfriend was still playing the demo with my brother and already memorized a few moves. She hadn't touched a console game since Lego Star Wars 🙂

But LOL! Nice story... I can relate, though it's been a long time since that kind of thing has happened with friends I've been with.

I just played this... It brought me right back to those days of playing MKII with my brother back when we had the Amiga 600. This is a must buy for me, and looks like it could very well be my favourite fighting game of the last few years.Loved it.

I actually liked MK vs DC, but this game for me is plenty superior. It ranks up there with the old games for me, assuming the demo's quality is the same as the finished game.
They could have made it way better than it was. I'm not even talking about story, I expected a crummy story. I mean gameplay and character movelists.
Wonder Woman in particular was a disappointment for me. She played like a weaker, less versatile Superman with a Lasso rather than a highly skilled Amazon warrior and it seemed like they modeled her more off the Linda Carter TV WW than the actual source character.

And I agree about Wonder Woman...
I think modeling Wonder Woman after the Lynda Carter character was a good idea. In fact, I was kind of hoping they would do that.
Anyway, anybody want to see that Fight Dirty! movie starring Johnny Cage? It looks badass. Here's the trailer for it:
Interestingly, I read that when playing as Shang Tsung, when you do his soul steal move (not the fatality, but the technique that replenishes a small portion of your health), he'll temporarily morph into whatever character he just did it on. I can see myself using that rather strategically in some cases, with this game's whole tag-team thing and all. It's not too broken either, methinks, as opposed to being able to morph into pretty much anyone like in the first three Mortal Kombats.
Master Chief as 360's exclusive character

winning.
though Wonder Woman as Carter was a bad, bad move imo.
Well, I'm guessing that Kuai Liang is still human at the beginning of this game's story, but later on (towards the middle or end of the story mode) is when he becomes a cyborg, and because Cyber Subzero is shown at like the bottom of the roster, he's probably one of the last characters you unlock. Was just wondering though if it was possible that they'll still have a human Sub-zero after this game somehow. There's currently not a third brother to my knowledge, but I could kinda see them coming up with one. But I'll be good regardless as long as they don't bring back that arrogant ***** Frost.
On a different note, just read Cage's bio for this game. Sorta makes me see the character in a new light..
"There is no greater martial arts movie star than Johnny Cage. Films such as "Dragon Fist", "Time Smashers" and "Citizen Cage" have made him one of the most highly paid actors in Hollywood. But there is more to Johnny than even he knows. He is a descendant of an ancient Mediterranean cult who bred warriors for the gods -- warriors who possessed power beyond that of mortals. This legacy has made Johnny Cage a star. More important, it will aid him in the battle to come."

Don't like Frost eh? 😛
NICE. Johnny Cage could always do with more respect; he's my favourite character.
