Mortal Kombat 9

MK, by and large, has never really been very clear on its story's powerscaling, has it? I know some of the villains are up there like Onaga or something, but...yeah.

Just be thankful Kratos still isn't part of the actual story. Most everyone would've been HIS punching bag then, and even I wouldn't care to see that.

And yes, I'm only bringing up Kratos because of this:

Didn't even hardly read much of the post before yours because of the spoiler warning, but I'm guessing most of it was bitching about who beat who within this game's story or something.. Am I wrong? I've never really minded the lack of MK story's clearness when it comes to powerscaling, with that said. At least things aren't always so predictable that way.

If the show/mini-series keeps delivering like this, I can easily forgive the changes they made to Baraka.

i am afraid that if they included kratos in the storyline he would lose to stryker and johny cage or jax seing how there is no sense at all in the fights they presented they actually made people like kitana sonya jax and nightwolf some gods that beat everybody , well at least scorpion didnt got too much of ass kicking i dont mind him losing to liu kang and raiden

and by the way i actually love liu kang and hated "spoilers ahead" that he dies but he shouldnt lose to raiden, liu kang beat shao kahn who just humiliated raiden... liu kang should be also able to humiliate raiden

i have to say i absolutely LOVE how they keep hinting at mortal kombat stuff; gives the fans that little bit extra to get excited about.

The game is out, and I have to wait a couple of weeks before getting my hands on it, so I won't be watching anymore vids.

johnny cage IS part god, though.

And yeah, him being part god would kinda explain how he was able to give Shinnok a run for his money (see MKA bio) prior to the last battle of Armageddon, although that itself basically adds to the whole lack of clearness about powerscaling in the MKverse, not that I'm complaining. 313

And you're not alone as far as not having the game yet. Apparently my gamestop preorder sends the limited/kollector's edition to my house either a few or couple days after the release date. 😬 Hated having to see people on my friends list already playing it today while I was the odd one out who had to wait a little longer to have their copy, so now I already feel behind to some extent. >: I know, just being a selfish bastard in that thinking, but that's the last time I preorder something from gamestop via delivery. Thought that would actually be more convenient than having to pick it up, but if means having to wait longer than others, then I see I was wrong. mmm

I must say, this game has been the most entertaining and enjoyable fighting game I've played since Killer Instinct.

The story mode in this game is amazing. Far and away the most impressive single player segment I've ever seen in a fighting game.

I 100% agree, Sugar Balls. It's an amazing campaign!

I love how the campaign is almost a forced tutorial that makes you have to practice with so many different characters, leaving you to choose who you like and who you dislike. I'm finding myself drawn to Cyrax, Sonya, and Scorpion, while I really need to practice more with Sub Zero, Smoke, and Jax. It's really fun, so far. I just hope that the fatalities will start happening soon! I'm hungry for blood!

I have yet to play online, since I want to complete the campaign first.

Yeah, mostly everyone can beat everyone else it seems.

Sindel basically pwned Raiden's warriors by herself, and Nightwolf nearly stalemates with her, in addition to pwning others.

That said, nahh, unless Kratos was depowered ala Superman/Flash/etc. everyone would be his punching bag.

Bah gawd sonya uses the stone cold stunner as her grab attack.

Has anyone seen the Babalities for these characters? Gosh, they're funny!

So much for my goverments threats about people gonna get fined, quite a few manage to import it and received their copies

Kung Lao got killed by a cheap shot move from Kahn right after Lao had beaten both Kintaro and the Deadly Alliance?
Although I didn't like how Tsung was also made a throwaway character at the end, it was still cool how his life-force being transferred to Sindel made her such a force to be reckoned with.

And Liu's attitude towards Raiden at the end kinda pissed me off, so now I feel even more justified in not liking him so much. 😛 Don't think he necessarily deserved to die because of that though, nor did anyone because of Raiden's mistakes for that matter...

And I kinda liked it better when Scorpion knew the truth and was hunting down Quan Chi's ass, as opposed to him being the sorcerer's "enforcer". It was so obvious too that the black-and-white images Quan showed Scorpion of Bi-Han killing his family and everything (with that sword and while riding on a horse) was fake. It's a shame that Scorp ultimately couldn't spare the older Sub-zero and have his clan revived in return.

Ah well. Anyway, I guess Shinnok's gonna be a primary villain again in the future based on the story mode's ending (MK4 being re-written in other words) ?

one of the things i hated was that they actually made kintaro , goro and shiva punching bags for everyone i mean how the hell could stryker beat kintaro? and raiden trying to sucker punch shang tsung and tsung just dodged that with easy wtf it just doesnt make any sense... but ultimately what really pissed me off was the way shao kahn treated raiden like some *****, when i saw the storyline stating that raiden and shao kahn are going to have a final battle with raiden losing i was thinking ok i guess we are going to see an epic fight with shao kahn cheating at the end and comming on top i have no problem with that but when i saw the intro and i saw him basically bitchj slapping raiden around and raiden didnt even fight back i was so pissed

Yeah, it was kinda disappointing in that regard, and I agree that the shokans were made a lot less threatening this time around.

you'd think they would've made Motaro a boss to fight as well since he was in plenty of cutscenes until getting zapped to death by Raiden

some random Tarkattans were shown holding some firearms sent by Kano?

Playing ladder mode on expert level difficulty... you might as well not even try against Shao Kahn. It doesn't make a difference.
