Blood. It's nature's lube

So hmm how does the game feel gameplay wise? Are the animations fluid or are they as stiff as ever?I'm split between this game and Portal 2 and I don't wanna make the wrong purchase =\. Will probably settle on P2 since SSF4 and MVC3 are enough...and I don't want to end up regretting buying this like Deadly Alliance
The animations are outstanding and very fluid. The gameplay is basically the gameplay from MKII but with combos (kombos?) The game is just outstanding. The stages themselves are among the most stunning stages I've seen in a fighting game, they're so good that sometimes you just want to stop fighting and look at them, there's all sorts of awesome shit in the background, and there's lots of them, too.
Also the storyline mode is a pure joy. MK has always had a really cool backstory and awesome lore, but we never really got to hear about them in the original games because of the limitations of the medium. Here though, you get roughly a 6 hour campaign filled with cutscenes telling the story of the first three games from multiple perspectives, I can't praise this aspect of the game enough.
I haven't played it online yet, but there's a ton of single player content and lots of unlockables.
Every fighter feels unique. Not like the older games where there was a lot of simple skin changes of the same character. Every character has their own speed and strength rating, along with unique move sets.
This is the first MK game I've played since MK3 that actually FEELS like a Mortal Kombat game. They recaptured the magic.
I highly recommend it.
@Entity. As far as the different versions go, they're identical aside from the PS3 having Kratos as a character as far as I know.
