i cant believe how weak raiden was, shao kahn slapping him around and beating him up and to top all that raiden didnt even fight back, now i know that at the end he didnt fight because he wanted the elder gods to interfere but whats about the beginning of the game? raiden had no buisness taking hits from kahn he was the last hope the earth had and he still got slapped all around and beat up he was very weak
and what about the shokans getting there ass kicked by everybody? even by striker who is just A COP
and what about reptile getting owned by everyone including the clown jhony cage? thats just pathetic
and what about mortal kombat legacy when raiden got his ass handed to him by 3 nurses? seriously there is no respect for raiden by WB
And before Nemesis decides to post it.
awesome
Wonder where they got that Ermac costume from. I'd wear it just for this day.

they dont respect raiden they allow everybody treat him like a noob even sonya beat him up, its because he is a japanese god and the developers are christians they dont respect japanese gods i bet if jesus was in mortal kombat no one would beat him up
as you stated yourself this was the reboot, no one said it was the same way in the original storyline, besides there is a proof that scorpion killed the elder sub zero without taking him to the Netherrealm since it was stated that raiden himself witnessed there fight and he saw scorpion killing sub zero during MK1 so that means they didnt fight in the Netherrealm
other than that i can say that any version of sub zero was always portrayed as better than scorpion, the elder sub zero defeated him twice, i know many people say that the first time doesnt count since scorpion was human but i say that it doesnt matter because he had the same skills he has now, the only difference is that the spawn scorpion got powers like controlling fire and he is undead but the skills remain the same, second time he got defeated by elder sub zero as the undead scorpion and only for the third time he manage to kill sub zero
if you ask me i think this should tell you all, scorpion had to become undead and unkilled in order to be able to fight a human mortal sub zero
the younger sub zero got defeated by scorpion in mortal kombat 4, how ever in the remake he defeated scorpion and as you can see in the armageddon intro younger sub zero again defeats scorpion , in the remake intro you see scorpion dead with an ice sword impaling him which tells you younger sub zero killed him
in all the malibu comics sub zero always owned scorpion with easy
in the media in mortal kombat annihilation sub zero was clearly doing better and inflicted twice the hits on scorpion
in conquest there first encouter sub zero dominated scorpion and only in there second fight they were portrayed as evenly matched
in shaolin monks intro again sub zero defeats scorpion
even in mortal kombat vs dc sub zero gets the better of scorpion
i think we get the picture if time after time where ever we look we see sub zero defeating scorpion

And it doesn't matter if Scorpion had the same skills as a human. He'd still naturally be at a disadvantage against a Cyromancer like Sub-Zero (who has similar skills) without any special powers of his own too such as hellfire, so I can see why others would say the first encounter doesn't count.
I don't recall their fights in the malibu comics at this point, though I guess I'll take your word for it, but they're most likely non-canon anyway like all the malibu crap that hardly makes sense. I actually recall Sub-Zero getting his ass kicked more than anyone else in the comics (besides like Reptile), while others such as Johnny Cage got the much better treatment, not that I'd complain about that.
Scorpion still beat him in Annihilation though, while Sub needed Liu Kang to save him from falling off a bridge or whatever as Scorpion succeeded in what he came for by capturing Kitana. Was a shitty movie anyway with much crappier ninja outfits than the first.
And it's true that in the MK9 intro you see Scorpion laying dead with Sub-Zero's ice sword impaling him, but you also see Noob Saibot laying dead with Scorpion's sword impaling him, and since the younger Sub defeated his older brother too in MK9 (though as a cyborg), it can pretty much be concluded that
Younger Sub-Zero > Scorpion > Elder Sub-Zero/Noob Saibot
With the exception of Scorpion overcoming the younger Sub in MK4.
I still hold that power scaling isn't a very big priority in the series amongst the characters that aren't clearly in leagues of their own, and that's usually just based on plot devices. The fact that both beat eachother at certain points in the series shoulld say well enough that neither is more glaringly powerful unless otherwise noted. In other words, I'd think Armageddon was by and large fair game all-around.
Except for that whole Sindel stuff in story mode. That was just pure bullshit excuse of plot device and a total cop-out imo. I understand it might be in an attempt to open way for some newcomers in the next potential game, but the last major newcomer I could think of was Shujinko, who was just a poor-man's marty-stu geezer Liu Kang replacement.
