STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Respite

Started by REXXXX69 pages

It can be assumed that Xeth grabs his friends and hi-tails it away from the part of Respite that Malteen's followers dominate. At long last, you are no longer being pursued and assaulted by fanatics through the streets of a long-dead city.

Retreating to space means wasting less fuel as you put yourself in orbit around the planet, and you have a moment to rest and regroup. Everyone can heal 10 damage, plus applying Medicine ratings. You had the foresight to bring medical supplies, so you can remove two times your Medicine rating in damage.

Aside from that... you still have a man with a droid army to take down.

Well alright. Good job on the escape. I exchange relieved pleasantries with everyone and check to make sure no permanent damage has been done to our weapons.

Strike 1 with the religious zealots. Is there any way we might be able to work the Maltites' fervor into an offensive against the other factions? Chaos seems like our best potential ally here, since there's really only one other shot for us to make a friend.

Everyone is a little battle-worn after that encounter.

The Maltites do hate Tarnik more than they hate you. It has potential...

Meanwhile, G8 and R3 have pinpointed the local of Wazo Kell, tracking his broadcast frequency and avoiding the territory that Navir claims is Tarnik's. They report that it was difficult to do; it is much better encrypted and maintained than Malteen's signal.

"Wazo Kell has a knack for technical junk," Navir says. "I'm surprised the Union didn't sell to him, he would've put a droid army to good use and maybe even improved them."

Xeth is going to relax after putting the ship into orbit.

"That did not go well," Xeth says. "I think we need to reevaluate whether or not we're going to be able to find allies on this world."

After our explanation to the Maltites, we can't very well tell them we're siding with Tarne or some such nonsense. And I'm not sure what goading them into attacking Wazo Kell would accomplish.

We could...do a harmless aerial attack run on Wazo Kell and claim to be with Tarnne's forces, pretending to be menacing but not hitting anything important? Not technically killing, but we would be inciting bloodshed. I'm guessing the Jedi are against it though. Ti's conflicted as she mulls it over, and decides that the bad taste in her mouth isn't worth it. She doesn't suggest it to the group.

...really just killing time here. I'm a bit stumped. Give me a night to think on it and I'm sure I'll come up with something awesome or stupid.

Ok, I have a plan.

We contact EVERYONE. Any channel, any line, any faction. We summon them to a point of our choosing, as close to neutral ground between the three factions as possible.

That, so far, is the plan. Feel free to congratulate me on it, or add something to it that will actually make it useful.

...was hoping I'd have some additions to the plan there. So far I have a half-cocked attempt at brokering a "peace" which would just be a lie while getting them together to try to fight. This doesn't sit well with Ti either, even though calling them all together appeals to her sense of the dramatic.

I'm down with trying the tech guy, personally. Worst case scenario is what just happened and we're back to square one. Best case, we may find a friend.

Rexx, are there any outgoing or incoming ships to Tarnne's area? He has to get the shipments somehow.

Getting the Maltites into a war with Wazo Kell wouldn't do us any good; we want them to fight Tarne, not each other.

Also, I think Rex mentioned that there is a quarantine by the surrounding worlds of Respite, so no ships come in or out. I could be wrong about that. I don't think anyone has ships (except Xeth!). The Maltites were totally weirded out by it.

Getting everyone to a peace talk seems like it might be a good idea but I have some reservations. The Maltites are already pissed at us and Tarne isn't going to be our friend. It could just turn into a ridiculous battle.

Talking to Wazo Kell seems like it might be more promising.

Ok, agreed. I was hoping we might find a way of sneaking in. Kell will have to be our next stop.

Vera-Kin still thinks sneaking into Tarne's base might be a good idea for threat assessment, if not for all-out Jedi battle. We're a little dinged up and only Vera-Kin has Intrusion. Otherwise, talking to Kell is our best bet.

Er, actually, I have some Intrusion points. Ush let me do a "you're new as hell so I'll allow this once" re-write of Ti's points. If Rexx allows it, we have 2 with Intrusion.

Oh! Handy! 🙂

So sure, we could infiltrate the compound. But would it just be 2 of us? Or could we somehow stealth the whole group in?

We may be able to try to work from the inside while Xeth and Co. talk to Kell.

Also, I saw them posting a post-battle heal chart in the big campaign. I have 1 in Medicine for my heal. What's our health at the moment?

It would have to be just Vera-Kin and Tilulla.

You combine your Medicine skill with your Intelligence stat for your Medicine Rating, which is then used to heal. On your ships, it is doubled as you have medical supplies there (somewhere). Since you are taking some time to rest, you can all take off 10 damage as well.

Charting your damage is generally left up to players. Hunt down what you were at before combat ended and then do math.

Cool. I'll get used to tracking it.

So I have a treatment rating of 4x2 = 8 + 10 = 18.

And I had taken...42 dmg? So 42-18 = 24 health points still gone.

And I can take 60 dmg. before falling. I think I'm getting this.

😊

Perfect!

Vera-Kin was at 16, Navir at 17, Barker at 39, Xeth at 54.

Does Navir or Barker have Medicine? Because I know Xeth doesn't. Vera-Kin is going to patch up Xeth since he got so beat up in the fighting. It might not be a bad idea if he stayed on the ship to give us covering fire!

Navir has a Rating of 6- he knows the value of a battlefield medic.

So, Vera and Ti infiltrate while Xeth provides some distraction cover fire, then heads off to talk to Kell?

I'll do the full heal math soon unless someone beats me to it. Don't have the time atm.
