STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Respite

Started by Vera2169 pages

Vera-Kin will flay open the flamer droid and dance away from it before it explodes, flying into cover if she can.

Swap in Block for Orthodox Guard.

Xeth- you won't be able to target the foes around Vera without catching her in the blast, due to the close range.

Xeth will target one of the other areas where he spots enemies, then. He preps a proton torpedo and lets it loose into the East section, hoping to discourage anyone else from attacking Vera-Kin with an overkill explosion.

Initiative belongs to the enemy.

With Barker down, Vera and Navir are taking more heat. Four soldiers and two droids on each, with the Flamer pursuing Vera-Kin and the Rocket droids gunning for Navir.

Some bad rolls from the soldiers only takes off a point of Cleave for Vera-Kin. The first droid clips off the last two points and the second misses.

The Flamer droid manages to burn you! Its roll beats your Agility check, so you take 6 damage. Nothing is set to flame though.

Nothing actually touches Navir. The rockets obliterate his cover and leave him exposed.

And, of course, reinforcements...

Your turn starts off with a tremendous boom as a proton torpedo slams into the pillbox's eastward yard. The Nexu's Grin rolls four successes and obliterates all foes in that sector, leaving a smoking crater. The blast even catches some of the reinforcements coming in.

A quick swipe from Vera-Kin puts an end to the Flamer droid, and her disengage via Charge means she is clear when it violently ruptures and spews plasma like the one before it.

Navir shoots at a Rocket droid, plunking through its armor. It is still a sturdier thing than the standard super droid.

Attention is being drawn to the big ol' starship that just arrived on scene...

Am I able to land right in the central yard?

Xeth is going to drop another volley of lasers and torpedos on North this time, if Vera-Kin would be so kind as to move out of there...

You can! It will be a Pilot roll to set down without issue in the midst of a firefight.

You are sensing danger from the south.

Xeth will let that come, whatever it is. I'm guessing the rocket droids are the threat but Xeth wants to draw some of the fire off of those on the ground and also thin the numbers. He will keep his action of bombing North.

Vera-Kin is going to move South, swap Block for Balanced Guard, tap it and tap Charge if I don't get initiative. She attacks the soldiers there and taps Cleave after that, in order to stay up.

Before I update this... something feels wrong to you, Xeth, and not just the danger you picked up.

Vera-Kin feels it as well as she moves away from the North.

I'm guessing its connected to where I'm shooting?

Barker went down in the north. The risk of killing him is high because he can't dodge.

If Vera-Kin can radio Xeth and tell him what the situation is, she will, while still performing her actions.

I'm going to throw a Twirl in there and a Charge tap even if I do get initiative, to up my dice pool. The rest of my taps stay the same, but I'm attacking in the North instead of moving.

Don't want to blow up your Wookiee, then. Xeth will shoot at the South.

Good thinking, Xeth.

Initiative is in your hands as Xeth's ship drops down on the south, unleashing a volley of lasers. He rolls five successes! That wipes out all the units there and blows apart one of the rocket droids.

Vera-Kin goes crazy-bonkers again. She bags five successes, activating Cleave and downing another five of her opponents. Not everyone, mind you, but enough to make a difference.

Navir leaves the rocket droids to the Nexu and shoots down a soldier north, just behind Vera-Kin.

The soldiers are splitting the fire between the starship in the sky and the people on the ground, and then split that again between Vera and Navir. The raised Defense from Vera's Balanced tap means she gets missed, and Navir takes a hit for 3 damage, out in the open like he is.

The Nexu takes 3 damage from small arms fire. Those rockets prove to be more menacing... you take 10 damage total from those, as the rockets burst against your shields. I'll take 3 damage off that, though, as you have Jinks Master.

Tap Cleave, swap Block in, use for Defense!

Vera-Kin attacks a soldier.

We'll wait for your aerial companion I think...

Xeth responds to the rockets from the south with rockets of his own.

Boom boom boom!

The 'death from above' terror that is Xeth's starship deals heavy damage to the Rocket Droids as he rolls well. Vera-Kin downs one of her soldiers, but they are too preoccupied with the ship raining lasers and bombs on them to fight the Jedi in their midst.

Navir storms north, taking advantage of the distraction. He makes a grab for Barker.

Are things cleared out enough for Xeth to land?

I hope so, Vera-Kin isn't going to stay up much longer.

If Xeth can come in for a brief landing or at least a pick-up, Vera-Kin is going to jump clear. Maybe she can Lift Navir and Barker up into the ship? That way Xeth doesn't have to land.

Xeth can try to come in for a landing, but those rocket droids are still picking on him.

Vera-Kin can easily make a Jedi-style leap onto the craft! But Navir is no Jedi, and he is carrying a heavy limping carpet.

Lifting them will take too long and make them easy targets for the troops on the ground. They are still closing in, though the Nexu is drawing off much of their fire.
