STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Respite

If Xeth gets Vera-Kin's message, he shouts back "What the hell are you doing?!"

As an aside to those aboard his ship, he says "You heard the woman" to Navir. "Get ready to blow it."

Xeth keeps the ship in range of the emitter so they can detonate the bunker but keeps out of firepower range if he can help it. Jinking if not.

"Just do it!" Vera-Kin responds as she runs.

You are there, Vera-Kin!

You can sense the enemy moving into the bunker behind you. Some stray shots are fired at you as you make it up the stairs and down the hall.

-

Xeth- incoming blaster fire! Not too much of a concern, but the rockets might be...

"Do it!" Vera-Kin shouts into the com before throwing herself through the pillbox's gap and out over the coast. She is going to use the Force to control her descent and aim her fall into the water, avoiding any rocks!

Navir obeys Vera's command, hitting the detonator.

Vera- you fling yourself over the barrier and out into the salty open air of the coast. For a second, your trajectory begins to drop toward the rocky coast below you... and then comes the explosion that propels you out and away from the pillbox at a terrible speed.

The concussion also renders you unconscious.

-

Xeth- you watch as the pillbox suddenly is replaced by a ball of burning light, and molten segments of it are hurled about at terrific speeds. The fire spreads and engulfs much of the area around the pillbox.

The concussion actually shunts your ship off course and you have to make a pilot roll to regain control... which you accomplish just fine.

Xeth will pull away from the explosion to prevent any further disruptions to his flying.

"Can you see Vera?" Xeth asks the others.

Uh oh...

The Nexu's Grin pulls away from the explosive mess that replaced the bunker. You just wasted a tremendous amount of Tarne's forces and their resources. And now the coast is left undefended!

Not that Xeth knows much of this. He wasn't entirely privy to what Vera-Kin was doing over here or why she was openly fighting them.

Navir can fill you in later, but right now he is looking out the viewports for Vera.

"I don't see her," Navir says. "There's too much debris in the air down there... do you think she really would have told us to detonate the explosives with her still inside?"

Barker is yowling incoherently.

"No way," Xeth says. "Shut the Wookiee up! Tend his wounds!"

Xeth is going to take the ship lower once the explosion has settled and he is sure that Tarne's forces in the area have cleared out somewhat. He doesn't think they'll stick around long once they realize the bunker is gone and there is still a heavily-armed ship hovering overhead...

Xeth is going to check the coastline.

Tarne's men appear to be scattering!

Navir will stabilize Barker, who has been shot multiple times.

With the threat level lowered, Xeth dips down toward the cliff and the bunker, looking for someone small and green.

The rubble from the bunker is still settling along the coastline, beneath the cliff. You cannot see anything...

No pressure if I go down and search? We're not being overwhelmed with enemies anything, no fighters on my sensors, blah blah blah.

Xeth isn't leaving until he's found Vera-Kin.

Tarne's forces are fleeing. You have no pressing threats.

R3 is bip-boodling about something in his dock.

"What is it, R3?" Xeth asks, irritated. "I'm busy here!"

R3 says you have an incoming message.

"Patch it through," Xeth says, while still looking in the waters for Vera. He flies low.

It is Wazo Kell. The communication signal is very patchy and flickers in and out of visibility. The audio is somewhat more stable.

"I picked up this signal near where I sent Master Vera-Kin," Wazo Kell says. "I'm guessing you're with her? My scouts saw you make short work of those droid fighters."

"I'm trying to find the Master," Xeth responds. "She took out a bunker on the coast and went down with it, but I don't think she died in the blast. What's going on?"

"The bunker is gone?" Wazo Kell says. "Good. It's working. Find her and rendezvous at the coordinates I'm sending you. Normally I'd be more careful on these channels but Tarne's forces probably aren't paying their code-cracking much mind right now."

Wazo Kell buzzes over some coordinates, which R3 confirms are encrypted. It will take him a moment to work on them; having G8 working on them as well certainly helps.

Coming down to the water, now, you think you can sense Vera-Kin... too bad your senses aren't stronger...

There's too much debris in the way.
