Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

Kill should always override stun, but I have too experienced the same thing, being stunned even though I had been pressing Kill several times already. I believe the answer must simply be lagg, this is one of the few games where I rarely ever see any lag, but it does occur sometimes, and would explain why the game thinks our target pressed stun before we got time to press kill.

Kill does override stun, yes. However, unless you're just heading straight at them from in front of them, your target has a good chance of stunning you.

Kills override stuns, because stuns are intended as a sort of "humiliation move" to be used on people who are being far too blatant in their movements.

However, there seems to be a semi-complex system of variables to it. For instance, you can stun a poisoning attacker if you manage to hit it at the same time they poison you. Both actions go through successfully. The same goes for assassinating an NPC, there is a very brief window where you can stun them as they attack the decoy. I've also found a number of situations that can really only be explained by a locked-on stun being more effective than a non-locked kill, most likely to represent that you knowing who they are puts you at an advantage when they don't know you.

All that said, assassinating someone behind you as they stun you is stupid and should be taken out, or the priority window made much smaller. Creeping up behind my pursuer to deliver a perfect sneak-attack stun, only for them to pull me over their shoulder like Neo and cause me to... I dunno, have a heart attack? (I have yet to see any deadly motions in a shoulder grab) is very annoying and just a little unfair.

I've been stunned while poisoning someone before. Generally then I don't mind giving them the 200 points, because I know I'm going to get at least 600 in return when they keel over and die five seconds later. I've also gotten a few completely on accident; I have a habit of mashing the stun button when someone comes too close to me and a few times it's paid off and that actually was my pursuer.

Generally the best way to get a stun is to surprise them in some way though. Hide in a group and sneak up behind them, or the best way is usually just a smoke bomb...but even that's not 100%.

Played in my first ever multiplayer match today (haven't had much time to play, unfortunately). I wandered around as the priest, mimicking NPCs as much as possible, and marveling that I wasn't getting killed. It was bizarrely entertaining to just sort of be walking around in the middle of a giant melee. I got 2 kills, and had 0 deaths, the least (by a lot) in both categories.

Obviously it was more a fact-finding mission than a serious attempt at doing well. I assume that the points for extra kills far outweigh the rewards for not dying, so my approach will need to change drastically. I enjoy not being an easy kill, though, and heavy-handed idiots annoy me whereas actual stealth is interesting to me, so I can't imagine my play style will be terribly aggressive.

Extra kills don't matter much, it's how you kill that's the clue. I remember a pretty poor game (average low scores throughout), where I came in first place with 3 kills, while the second place had 10 kills. The more stealthy you are when killing, the more points you get. And always try to get the Focus bonus, it's a small circle around the "kill" icon that slowly fills when you are indicating your target.

Yeah, it's easy to place high with a few kills if you simply do well on the kills. I rarely get below 400 points per kill - Silent/Incognito bonuses are awesome and I get it nearly every time.

I never seem to manage Focus, though. Even if it says that it's full, it doesn't give me the bonus.

Do anyone else sometime kill a random NPC just to get a new target? If my target is a maniac running around all over the place, and I simply can't be bothered to chase him all over the map, I simply kill the nearest person I see, and get a brand new target.

I very, very rarely do things like that. Roofers go to ground eventually, and if they're too close when you kill an NPC they might very well get a +200 Lure bonus for your switch. Not to mention an indecisive Pursuer out of your sight suddenly knows which one you are.

I never have either.

Ah you are simply too patient for your own good 😛

I...need to play more. You guys want me to friend you? I'll be easy prey for a while.

What's your gamertag, Digi? Mine is Silver Stardust 😛

Given my Templar Grade is overall "Master," apparently it's not to my detriment.

DraconicDak here. We'll teach you the ropes, man. 😛

Mine's DogCannon. You'll all be getting added soon.

😊

So there we are, playing Wanted in San Donato. It's been a great, fun game, with the top scores neck and neck for first. It's the final minute, and my target Executioner runs by, climbing to the roof of the central building. Normally I would head him off on the ground, but it's almost over and I've only got one pursuer, so I follow him. He races to the other side, I cut straight through the middle and climb after him. I suddenly see the arrow light up over my own pursuer, approaching us both. No time to balk, I go for the kill! So does my pursuer, my target, and a fourth there to fill in the circle.

...apparently, we all went for the kill at the exact same time. It showed me briefly jumping at my target as he jumped at his, then switched to a view of my pursuer jumping down at me as the fourth lunged for him. The game... froze. No special windows popping up, no whiting out, it just... froze, with my pursuer in midair, weapon pointed at me.

All I can think of is that the game couldn't figure out priority for the kills and just... crashed. Though I'm annoyed because it was with only 38 seconds left, I have to admit, it's also pretty hilarious.

Templar Grade, is that the new thingy that came with the latest update? How does it work?

The game separates the modes into three categories: Co-op (Alliance), Team (Manhunt/Chest Capture), and Free for all (Wanted). In each of those, it records your top three scores for the week in ranked matches. It then adds those together for your score in that specific category. As time goes on, it will keep your recorded score for four weeks, and your score will be the average of you total score each week, giving a rolling average. Finally, all three categories are combined to calculate your overall Templar Grade.

THE PYRAMID
01 - 02% - Grand Master
02 - 05% - Master
03 - 06% - Seneschal
04 - ??% - Advisor
05 - ??% - Commander
06 - 10% - Preceptor
07 - ??% - Knight
08 - ??% - Warrior
09 - 16% - Cleric
10 - 20% - Disciple

Each tier of the pyramid is a specific percentage of the ranked community as a whole, meaning Grand Masters are the top 2 percent of ranked players, Masters are the next 5 percent below them, and so on.

Right, gotta try to play some more then (basically don't play Brotherhood for the time being, just jumped on when I see you and Peach on)-.

This game has some serious glitches.

My little brother has had two bad ones. Several times when he has sent some recruits on missions, the timer glitched out and sent them out for about 3.045689234e+17 minutes.

And just now he dove off a building into the water, and he didn't land in the water. Instead he landed into something that functions like water, but it's a clearish color and it's about 400 feet beneath the entirety of the city of Rome. I went in and saw the screen and thought the city was clouds. Lol.
