so you are saying the bible says i cant smoke weed or drink cactus derived drinks with mescalin and alkaloids?

pretty sure jesus said we can drink wine so long that we do not act like a fool.

but, either way you think the bible has a say on how others live from different cultures? for instance if ppl are consuming hallucinogens in order to pray and meditate why would that not be allowed?

but keep in mind the drugs that i speak of are also a part of a cultural diet only white ppl like americans make it illegal.

I think they key phrase is Sober Mind and Your Body is your temple. To those who have been called by God, You have to balance those two very carefully, in all that you do.

And I am not a Moral Relativist.

so i take it that includes wines, beer and cigarettes and anything that alters the mind or pollutes the body, right?

Nah, you seem ok. I've got an issue with the inspired Word, but that's not something I prepped to jump into.

thanks! 🙂

Did Christ have a wife? No, he did not. Is Marriage therefore sin? Did Christ eat Pork? No. Is eating Pork therefore sin? No. Your logic is flawed and your interpretation skewed.

* that's because you did not read the whole thing… 🙄

Just as eating with unwashed hands cannot defile, so can a Tattoo not defile you, is in the content of that Tattoo.

* didn't you read the latter part? it's uncleanness or impurity of the flesh…

I don't even know how to respond to the second part of that post. No, The Law Of Moses does not apply today.

* I do agree that some laws of Moses does not apply today… but some still do…

does the bible say i cant do drugs or eat drink certain hallucinogens as part of my culture and overall diet?

"Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God."
Galatians 5:19-21

* the phrase, "and such like" is broad…

* there are non-alcoholic wines, as far as I know… too much wine means you'll get drunk, the Bible advises:

"Abstain from every form of evil."
I Thessalonians 5:22

* if it damages your body, then stop it… too much of something is not good for the body…

but how do you balance it out with jesus and what he said plus him making more wine?

also i will not stop nor will i turn my back on my culture b/c of what some other book from another part of the world says.

i will drink the shroom tea and puff the peace pipe or drink or chew the peyote if am offered at a powwow if i go to another or i am invited

* Jesus created a good wine in His miracle at Cana, I believe it's not alcoholic… John 2:10… 🙂

* no one's forcing you… I was merely sharing what the Bible says, if you obey, it's for your own good… 🙂

nor will i view as a sin my mind is not muddled but open as is my spirit able to see what once i could not

* can i ask why are you asking about the laws in the Bible when you clearly admit that you will not change your lifestyle because of it?

b/c i dont agree with the interpretation of some of the ppl.

plus i find it amusing to play the devils advocate especially since i have taken theology courses and i am pretty versed in it as well..devil

* aha! 😛

like everyone in this country you are entitled to your opinion and interpretation.

i cant say you are wrong or right on how you interpret it without siting a counter verse in the bible and i'm too lazy.

in the end God speaks to us and if you seek the truth you will find it.. so in that if you feel what you read and interpret is truth and you can live with it good for you.

That is why it is important to have spiritual discernment. The lack of it is why we have so many false doctrines going around these days.

does god approve or disprove nudism?

is it a sin?

It should be approved actually since god said everything he made was good.

Well, no one is born with clothes on..lol.

so why do missionaries run around the congo and amazon telling ppl to put on clothes and they should be ashamed?

that crass clothes and skirts are not enough they need pants and shirts.

Probably because they get all hot and heavy.

i like to continue the discussion between modesty and the warped view that some believe it to be a moral sin when it is not.

lets clip this question so others can give their opinion.

but till then what about:

is reading up or expanding ones spiritual knowledge of another's history or culture a sin?

by this i mean studying religion of other ppl or scriptures. wouldnt it behoove ppl to know about the ppl they are tryin to convert?

rather then just burn their books or tell them they are all goin to hell.. can some one tell me where in the bible it says ppl are to do this to convert ppl?

* regarding sin... what is a sin?

"Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law."
I John 3:4

"Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin."
James 4:17
