Hence Metron being the obvious choice.

All the super genius inventiveness one could ask for, enough of a diabolical streak to not be a pushover but also not be truly evil, the necessary restraint, patience, and decision making to handle whatever a situation warrants, and the ability to work on both sides of the good/evil dichotomy without making waves.

Metron's the best of all worlds in my opinion.

all i got from that is he's neutral as phuk

Yeah, f*ck cosmic awareness!!!
Doom was in the repurposed Leaderville machine longer than Reed, Pym, T'Challa, Pym, McCoy and Banner were. He was captured first, and therefore, in the Leaderville machine that was draining their intelligence the longest.

Furthermore, Leader had slipped Doom a Radiant Neural Anesthetizer when he first engaged the Hulk family which instantly reduced his intelligence in seconds. Reed never was affected by that. He was just captured straight up by the Wizard.

And still... only Doom was aware that something was wrong, from Incredible Hulk #609:

That's right. Even Doom's own omniscience got nothing on Doom. Can you dig it?

Pre-Crisis Luthor could do that using two cans, a piece of string and a half-used battery and 8 seconds. uhuh

Macgyver can do it in 3 sec.

Calling in Mac just isn't fair. He could solo Marvel and DC multiverse with a bit of lint, a penny, some gum and his swiss army knife in under a minute. 😄

You're focusing on one thing: who can invent the best tech. Reed is too much of an absent minded professor to be called most intelligent man in comics. In fact there have been times when other members of the FF have called Reed "the world's dumbest smart guy" because of his at times jarring lack of common sense.

Telling me I'm focusing on one thing too much doesn't change the fact that it is difficult to ascertain overall intelligence without creating some kind of standards by which to measure such... And in any test it favors the person who has been in that area longer...

Ie reed has the intellect... Again his intellect of the entire universe/multiverse was the blueprint to the whole thing... Can you imagine containing that much knowledge?!

Deciphering magic in a short period... Or pym particles... Or creating an entire new theory to study the science of where humanity was heading and the best way to prevent a cataclysm ala civil war....

The dumbest smartest man is just too hard removed to concern himself with minor details such as emotions which is why he gets into trouble with his wife a lot... The context of where most of those dumb smart comments come from.... His relationship with his wife is strained at times... Look at Albert Einstein and his love life as a comparison...

Again his mind was able to reach "god" and he mapped he whole universe in his mind... As well as created tech that could alter the biology of a skull to be undetectable even by any known science or magic... Which includes other geniuses like doom.... Black panther.. Etc...

I'm not discrediting metron. I'm just backing my choice

Professor Q, easily. But if I had to choose one, I'd side with Metron. His whole life is only about knowledge. Plus, he created something that would make you godlike.

Metron also invented Element X didn't he?

I'm not sure about that. I know he had to make a deal with Darkseid to get enough to power his chair.

There's a dubiously canon bio that states Element X is the source of Darkseid's power but I don't think it's ever been referenced in comics.

Besides, Reed's admissions of Doom's superior intellect are more numerous and one of them must be more recent. sneer

Still... kill yourself. crackers crackers

I think Threeboot B5 is the smartest Brainiac 5.

The original has the best super-science feats easily, but Threeboot is the *smartest*. He manipulates people a lot better, is probably the most dangerous with limited resources, and so.

Possibly Ancient Gina Diggers from the comic Gold Digger. She created Positive Infinity, which is sort of... a minor Worlogog, map of space time that can be used to alter space time.

She also created three 'ark ships,' greater than planet sized on the inside, an inch and a half on the outside (and capable of providing power to stuff on the outside from the inside) that saved three races from the collapse of the previous universe.

Invented Time Magic, combined technology and magic in a variety of ways... basically did a ton of stuff.

Not to mention what her modern non-ancient counterpart did with a postit note.

Brainiac 4 was rather smart too, as one may expect from a Brainiac.

Agatha Heterodyne from Girl Genius (SCIENCE!).

What's the name of the woman who designed the 4 horsemen robots?

Veronica Cale, Wonder Woman foe of sorts.

Also on intelligent women in comics- very, very genius women aren't rare, they just tend not to be inventors. Like Oracle, absolute best hacker and info-coordinator in DC, or Wendy her new protege. Or Sage over at Marvel.

There's exceptions like the woman who made the mutant 'cure' over at Marvel or Cale or so on, but hacker/general intelligence women tend to be more common.

MacGuyver is the abstract personification of intelligence.

Smart women in comics tend to be doctors or witches. Like Moira MacTaggert, Kravita Rao and Selene.

Hmm.. I wonder if Selene was to gather a team of the eight smartest women on marvel earth, who would that be?

Janet Stein of the Pride (Chase's mother) was a superscientist, Stacey Yorkes as well.

Heather Hudson/Sasquatch of the EXiles is pretty smart, serving as their science brain and figuring out the Crystal Palace's stuff, but not top level stuff.

Lesse... Ms. Sinister would be on there, I assume. Possibly Kavita Rao.

I assume if they made such a team, we'd see several new characters never before introduced.

Bah! Q could access computers from across space/time and had nearly infinite knowledge. She would take the cake.

That's a lot of processing power and knowledge, but in terms of smarts, still gonna vote for the person who created a map of spacetime 🙂

Odin.

nah.. odin was pretty stupid when standing next to warlock as warlock gave odin hints on what could possibly caused thor to go mad..

odin was annoyed at how he was being questioned.
