STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION - Desecration

"It's Rand. He'll do what he can to keep any superiority over others he can..."

The ship makes the jump smoothly, and you are on your way. It's not a very long trip back to Arbra.

Galder won't say much on the way back. He is not really in the mood for small talk. He will rest.

Rianna is not very chatty either, and elects to do the same.

The trip is quiet, then, with neither of you talking much. As you set the ship down, you notice Rand waiting outside of the caves that the group is still using for a hideout.

Galder powers down the ship once it sets down and gets out, making sure to grab his pack with the Holocron and other dusty Sith books in it.

"Hello Rand," Galder says.

"I see that both of you have made it back unharmed," Rand says, by way of greeting, ignoring Rianna's small sound of disbelief as she exits the ship. "Now, I want to waste no time with this. Let me see the holocron."

"Waste no time indeed...can't even wait until we've gone inside?" Rianna comments.

"Hang on, Rand," Galder says.

He does not take out the Holocron but instead removes one of the dusty Sith books.

"I'm making an act of good will here. You tell us everything you learn about the Holocron, and I also grabbed a bunch of books from the ruins we plundered to get it. Just for you."

If it were possible for Rand's eyes to light up with glee, they would have at the mention of the tomes you brought back.

"Books, from a Sith ruin? Do you have any idea what's in them?" he asks, glancing back and forth between Galder and Rianna.

"I couldn't read them at all," Rianna replies.

"I shall need some time to study the holocron...and these...give them to me, and I will be able to tell you what I learn," Rand says. "Though I will also have Gallador help me with this - he knows more of these things than I do."

"I will just say that if I feel like you withhold information from me, I will make sure you never read another thing ever again," Galder says.

"And you know very well I'll side with Galder on that," Rianna adds. Rand just waves his hand, as if he is completely unfazed by the threat.

"Yes, yes. Just give me the holocron. The longer you wait to hand it over, the longer it will be before you find out what's on it."

Galder will put the Sith tome back in his bag before holding it out to Rand, expecting the former Master to just pull it to him.

Rand does indeed do just that, using the Force to call the bag and its contents to him.

"I will call for both of you when I am done studying these," he says.

"The holocron first, Rand. Do not waste time by playing around with the books so you can put off sharing your findings with us," Rianna snaps.

"Do you not trust me?" he says.

"You know very well I don't..." Rianna replies quietly.

"Always thinking the worst of everything. I will look at the holocron first, and I will tell you what I find from it before I start studying the books. You have my word," Rand says, with a bit of a mocking emphasis on that last sentence.

"Thanks," Galder says. "Now, I'm going to tinker with my ship..."

"Do whatever you wish," Rand says, before disappearing into the caverns.

"You know he's not going to take our threats seriously," Rianna says, with a sigh. "He'll just share whatever he wants to."

"That's why we're going to talk to Gallador," Galder says.

"He may be more willing to share with us...unless Rand tells him not to. Let's hope he doesn't think of that."

"We'll pay him a visit shortly," Galder says. "Until then... come over here and learn some technical gumf, or tell me something interesting while I fiddle with my ship..."

"Technical stuff bores me. I can fix my lightsaber and that's about it," Rianna replies, but she goes and sits on a large rock near where you're messing about. "What would you find interesting?"

"Something about your past, about being a Jedi," Galder says as he opens up a panel on the side of his ship's massive engines. "Or someone interesting you fought."

"My past as a Jedi? Hah. I was a failure of a Jedi. My only real success was when I was still a Padawan, and I almost didn't survive that one," Rianna says shortly. "Someone interesting I fought? How about Rand himself?"

"How'd that go?"
