Mass Effect 3

Gamers who checked into Mass Effect 2 might have noticed a new Systems Alliance report that announces:

UTOPIA SYSTEM – A massive influx of batarian ships is raising tensions in the Exodus Cluster, putting Alliance forces on high alert. According to Alliance officials, the ships came from the batarian-held Harsa relay with minimal warning, some barreling right through. The Alliance reportedly fired on some of the ships with the intent to disable them.

“It’s a miracle any of them are still alive,” one human frigate captain said. According to the batarians, they are neither invaders nor defectors, but refugees. They claim a hostile species has attacked the Hegemony’s fleet, bombarding Khar’shan and other batarian planets.

With the Harsa comm buoy system crippled, communication is sporadic at best between far-flung batarians and their government on Khar’shan. Some refugees claim the attackers were Council. Others blame the geth or even the rachni. All report that the enemy, in whatever form, is blockading the relay, destroying most spacecraft trying to make it through. The refugees are not solely civilians. Hegemony Commander, Eruz Mathat, who is under guard while his cruiser is inspected, was blunt in his assessment of the situation. “I never thought I would say this to the human navy,” he said, “but we need you.”

Ahahahahahahahaha

Batarians.

Suffer not the Batarian to live!

Batarians.

At last, Batarians admitting they're crap without us. Possible Side-Quest?

Actually, come to think of it, the mention of the Rachni makes me interested to see what role they'll play if you let the Queen survive.

Spoiler:
I've had enough of your tabloid journalism.

Apparantly

Spoiler:
Shepard can dodge bullets.

And the spoilers begin. I can't visit this thread anymore.

🙁

I have something to say about the ending.

Spoiler:
IT SUCKS!!!!

As I understand it, there's more than one.

Spoiler:
It's practically the same darn thing. Either way, the Reapers go bye bye while Shepard sacrifices him/herself and even though your goal was to gather an army, all you had to do was pick a freaking door (metaphorically speaking of course) at the end with a lot of questions that needed answering but apparently weren't. Speaking of an army, I'm disappointed how I never saw the Geth, the Rachni, or anything else besides the humans, Asari, Turians, and Krogan on Earth. What's up with that?

^this...I'll be checking back when I start it

Lot of rumbling about the ending(s), but I thought it was fitting.

Spoiler:
the whole game had a very dark and despairing tone, and the ending fit this tone perfectly. Even more than the ending was the bit on earth, when you talk to all of your squad members one last time before starting the final mission. There was some very powerful stuff during that segment, almost brought me to tears.

Overall, honestly this is one of the best games I've ever played, and probably had the greatest emotional impact of any game I've ever played, period.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone suffered from the File Corruption issue through importing an ME2 character save?

Do you mean the glitch where Shepards face doesn't transfer? If so, yeah I did.

I'll get back to you when I actually finish the game and can read your response.

My Shepard's face came out wrong, round and very flat with strangely off-white eyebrows. I think it may have recorded some of the decisions from the previous games wrong, too.

Apparently that's pretty common - either it doesn't import correctly, or just plain doesn't recognize the ME2 save files at all. From what I remember hearing, it affects something like 15% of copies? Which obviously wasn't enough for them to care about actually fixing it...I dunno, but I'd think that 15% is a huge number and they should have had the fix ready for that before the game launched, since they were aware of the problem.

15% should be unacceptable even by loosest QA standards.

I've heard it affects everyone whose ME 2 import was also imported from ME, and they didn't change Shepard's face when given the chance in ME 2.
