Anakin did bring balance to the force. I mean he destroyed Palpatine's original body and overthrew him from being Emperor. Sure Palpatine still lived, but it was in decaying clones and he no longer controlled the galaxy, therefore he was no longer imbalancing the force... At least that's they way I read the prophecy, and it does fit with both GL and the EU.

Because Lucas doesn't know half what's going on in C-Canon while the story is constant and actually relevant to in-universe contradiction. Him saying something doesn't change much to the existing story, which is the most important part of the Star Wars experience. A contradiction in the story would be something like what The Old Republic is doing to Revan.
But the fact remains that not even the turkeyneck can make everything after RotJ look like a contradiction.

As for the rest of the Eu, Lucas does take what he feels like, which is why I hold its still canon in Lucas's vision, except where he clearly contradicts it.

DP, when I told you there was an edit button, it was actually meant as a hint. You don't have to be an advanced programmer to use it. See, the edit button is next to quote button of a certain post, if you use your cursor to click it once (usually the left side of the mouse pad) then it will allow you to "edit" your post to avoid the annoying against the rules double triple posting.

Tell you what, if you don't want to follow the EU, you don't have to. But just so you know, you're in the EU forums, and everyone here goes by the EU. The official SW site has DE under the EU. It's c-canon.
