How I'd survive a zombie apocalypse .

try not to get bitten or killed.

the 1st is more acceptable then the latter, one way to survive.

All I need is the Ray Gun from Call Of Duty: World At War

If there are zombies running around then finding a few automatic weapons doesn't sound too far-fetched.
And if someone finds them and has never fired an automatic rifle? You think they are gonna be efficient with it?

No. Anyone here with military training will agree with me.

You don't just pick up an automatic weapon and become Rambo.

Let's get real, people.....If zombies are running amuck, we aren't gonna find automatic weapons lying around. We aren't gonna find them in a local gun store or sporting goods outlet. What we would find is semi automatic pistols and rifles, Revolvers, hunting rifles, shotguns and carbines.

A fully automatic Glock with a 200 round clip? Good luck finding that. And if you DO find one, you'll have zero training on shooting it. I can guarantee you that going from semi auto to full auto is night and day, and unless you are a Cop or a soldier, or a redneck waiting for the government to crumble, you will SUCK with a fully automatic pistol or rifle.

My choices: the Mini-14, The Model 13000 Defender, the Beretta 92F, can all be found at local gun stores, AND I am familiar with them.

I already said this, you ass.

Make sure you bring the Klan yo.

I don't bring the klan, the klan brings me, yo.

Whoa, this is both a great and original thought; thanks for posting it, ass.

I know I wouldn't be although when my dad was in the RAF, although he wasn't a pilot he still trained with guns. If he was with me at the outset then he could show us the basics I guess. Plus, there may be other ex-servicemen about that I don't know of. The only thing I've fired myself is a couple of Airsoft guns so I would be hardly prepared to fire a real one.

But finding them would be the problem for me and I can think of only three ways:

1. Luckily stumbling upon some in somebodies deserted house, which is highly unlikely around where I live, the closest thing I would find would be probably an air rifle- not good. But with that said there is still a possibilty, I don't know whats in my neighbours houses.

2. Gun shops: now I do have some in my area but they are not close and they may be empty by the time we get there through looting. Or they might be difficult to break into (especially if some people have decided to barricade themselves in).

3. Armed Police/Army: if they mobilise in time and survive they could afford us some weapons and protection, but if they've been taken out then their weapons will be up for grabs providing the coast is clear.

Zombie dogs would be a major concern too I think, lot of dogs in my street.

we all like to be the hero in our fantasy Zombie apocalypse and not the victim who trips or misses his target or hurts himself with his weapon.

let's be honest whether you shot a gun in the range or in your backyard doesnt mean you are going to know or have time to figure out how to fire a weapon system you never seen...

most ppl dont know the 1st thing about front sight or back sight.. the mag ejection button location or the safety lock, the proper way to hold a weapon or stand, cock/rack fire or to fix a jam in the heat of a fire fight..

aside from that imagine finding a grenade launcher looks easy but, who knows how to use the leaf sight ..

let's say you found an M16 do you know how to stand and place the weapon when firing it?

or you find a 50 cal machine gun are you a regular joe goin to know how to load, lock the weapon without accidentally killing yourself?

is a civilian goin to do something that requires a military kid to be trained in various weapons with supervision and practice, just b/c he thinks he is smart and should be easy?

i mean its easy to say, i'm not an idiot or i aint 18,19 yr old moron service kid....

one weapon system is not the same as another. just b/c you go to the gun range and fire a gun doesnt mean you can fire a rifle or vise versa... maybe you cant stand in the range being patient looking over the weapon till you figure it out and practice adjusting your aim no one yelling at you, no pressure or being chased.

try figuring out a brand new weapon you never fired while being chased or scared, nervous, adrenaline in your system messing with your mind...

ppl practice firing weapons for a reason in the military its more then just practice, its muscle memory desensitize you, making you feel comfortable and not panic, program muscle memory.

i see a certain ppl who are competent functional members of society, whether lawyers, doctors, scientist, jocks.. getting hurt by the recoil, breaking or blowing off their thumbs, foot, burning themselves and even killing themselves from springs coming out of the weapon b/c they are smug enough to think they are smart enough then some 18, 19 yr old military kid.

**** being a hero, I'd survive, first and foremost. Heroes get killed.

Yes, FRONT SIGHT.....This was instilled upon me by my Uncle years ago.

I lol'd.

If I found an M-16, I'd keep it on semi auto. Someone who has never fired full auto before doesn't realize that the barrel creeps up and up with each recoil.

Mhm, why I chose the weapons I did. I know them.

Plus I'd like to see how an average Joe reacts when their full auto gun jams.

the problem with a lot of ppl they think their weapon wont jam.. the truth, most Full auto/semi auto weapons will jam from time to time whether you are a civilian or a military person. It's the nature of the weapon... most ppl dont take this into account.

if you are a civilian and your weapon jams i advice you to use tap, rack, bang...if that doesnt work proceed to S.P.O.R.T.

i am sure being a smart average joe it is pretty self explanatory, after all most arent 18, 19 year old kids or morons.

what i wanna see the average joe handle a live round or hot round in the chamber.

better yet, i love to see head shots at 80 to 40 ft with a handgun from some one who just picked it up, 1st time ever.

Full auto has myriad of problems:

wasting vital ammo
over heating
barrel warping
jamming

goin full auto in the military means you are screwed and the enemy is already on top of you.

Mhm. Full auto= Waste of ammo.

i rather take the weapons you listed then the full auto movie star handguns...

what, i'm goin to shoot 50 rounds just to hit 5 ppl while i spray and pray?

i threw in the leaf sight comment on the grenade launcher b/c a lot of ppl think you aim and shoot right in front of you and the round will travel in a straight line to its target..

i hated the grenade launcher, i was horrible at it, aiming at an upward angle just to hit something 30 yards in front of me, i was awful at it. i wanted nothin to do with it....

but, i guess i am a moron b/c your average joe would be able to do better then me.
