See, this thread was started out of HP spite. The thread starter and the heroes crowd want the following:
The spell that hides Hogwarts taken away.
The shield charm that protects Hogwarts taken away.
Felix felicis taken away.
For the wizards to be unaware until the attack begins. And even thne, they'll have to ID the perps and form an offensive.
That's 4 big ass gimps.
Wait, they want to discredit the hall of prophesies. That's FIVE gimps. A versus battle should always have each side aware of the other, aware of the attack, with as few handicaps as possible.

Oh yeah, the OP has the wizards sitting on their hands drinking pumpkin juice, totally unaware of the pending attack.
Oh wait, the shield that protects Hogwarts is always up, the heroes can't find it.

So, the watered down incredibly gimped wizards are just sitting there, clueless, when the heroes burst in. Oh yeah, the heroes can somehow SEE Hogwarts. AND they can somehow get past the protego shield charm that protects Hogwarts.

Exactly, the fact that the heroes can see it is bullshit. That's amping their powers and gimping the wizards.

On-screen proof? You mean besides the fact that in OOTP death eaters were shown flying full speed into it in an intangible state and bouncing right off? Besides the fact that in THBP Flitwick is literally shown raising it? Despite the fact that Hermione was face to face with a snatcher, and, due to the protego totalum shield charm she casted, he could not see her?
If the wizards are aware, they can go intangible AND invisible. Both were shown onscreen. The intangible part has been debated, but Snape did it in TDH part 1 when he walked right through an iron wrought fence. So, if the wizards are invisible, the heroes cannot see them. And if the wizards are intangible, they cannot be harmed.
And please, don't dare come at me with "well why didn't the wizarda go intangible all the time?" Because I'll reply with "Why didn't force users use force speed all the time?"

This is true. BUT, if one side is gonna be gimped, the other side must be gimped equally. To have the heroes able to see past the shield charm AND have the wizards sitting around on their hands is not an even playing field, bro.
