Was actually talking about the feat but whatever. 😮

''This insomnia thing'' Nah just means less time wasted sleeping -nods-

Don't threat, the Lloyd's skill thing is only a balance to Link's observant skills. Both mean little.

Parrying something means you're body is not taking the full blow. It means your blocking it. He never got hit by the lightning head on.

Alright, since you agree that Link is now capable of cutting Lloyd's head off, then yes, we can.

We haven't seen anything so no, we can't classify it. We can guess, but we are not sure. For all I know, he could have just been hitting them with the lightning used to kill Corrine. And clearly you aren't. Does that mean I'm not allowed to be annoyed at someone who is being stubborn when there is no reason to be?

Except he could withstand the force of two charged up bolts, remember? He didn't tanked them with his body, but he did it single handed. And for the record, yes, he survived something that electrocuted and killed someone else, which is impressive.

I do not recall agreeing with that, lol.

Who cares. It happened. The only power he has is lightning, so it's not illogical to assume is lightning. Feats on screen aren't always 100% necessary. At least we know he did killed more people besides Corrine, which says even more about Lloyd's feat. We're disagreeing, I don't know what type of right you have to call someone stubborn.

The electricity required to cause a bit of nerve damage and cardiac arrest is of negligible weight, this proves no strength or durability. >=|

ScreamPaste, nowhere it says it's a hundred of tons pillar. And yeah, you don't use the same stength to lift something than to hit something.

I don't know how Link did cut wood, but normal humans can punch and destroy several bricks in a row and not lift a car. Why? Because they don't use the same strength.

Show me someone cutting down a tree in one swing and it'll be comparable to young Link.

The pillar is massive, it cannot weigh less than several hundred tons sheerly by being made of stone. If you can lift something like that, you can crush marble, granite, or steel in your hands like they're sheets of paper.

Here's two things I would like to know:

1. Is there a good in game description of the sword? I know the history behind it how Mithos split the world in half and yada yada but I just want some good, solid exposition from the game.

2. Does Lloyd ever fight anyone that uses the sword? If so, is there like a cutscene where they cross blades?

1. Hmmm... I can't think of any specific part of the game where a character just sits down and explains the Eternal Sword. It's kinda something that gets slowly explained as the game goes on. I'd ask someone to correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I'm the only one here who has played the game...

Aselia, the Tales Wiki's article on the Eternal Sword says it's a: "legendary sword, capable of cleaving the fabric of time and space itself."

SPOILER ALERT (like it really matters at this point)

Lloyd also uses it at the end of the game to reunite the two worlds and cause the great tree to bloom again. So it isn't just a destructive weapon. Honestly, I'm not sure the developers even know the full extent of what it can do. It's just a magic sword that can, like, do anything.

END SPOILERS

2. No one actually fights with the Eternal Sword in the game. Mithos has it sitting at the top of the Tower of Salvation and uses it to knock out the party at one point by sending out a shockwave like attack from the sword. But no, Lloyd never actually fights someone who wields the Eternal Sword like a sword. And once he gets it, he keeps it hidden until he uses it at the very end of the game. Technically the final attack of his Ultimate Attack uses the sword, but that's gameplay mechanics.

MMM.... A gameplay argument might be in order, but it really isn't important. I already admitted Link is stronger thanks to the Golden Gauntlets anyway.

It's not actually important to the argument, just further poking Griever's silliness about Link's ability to sword things.

The ****!? How can he cut through those logs with that tiny butter knife? I call haxx man!

Link is a pretty hax kind of guy. 😎

Silliness? I WAS ASKING FOR EVIDENCE! 😮 Why the hell no one brought that up before? Okay, Link can slash through wood with his sword. Nice striking feat. 🙂

Withstanding the force of something is different than actually surviving it. It has to be the latter for it to count as an endurance feat.

Ya did.

Obviously. If I heard rumors that so and so had the power to anihilate countries, I won't cry to see it. But destroying a village of ninja is different. Did he completely eradicate the village in one blast? Or did he float in and start shooting them? The former is a good feat of power. The latter...less so. Especially since I don't know how strong ninja are in that world.

So....feats wise we have:

Link
Strength
Durability

Lloyd
Speed
Reaction time.

Link is leading largely due to his items and repeated showings of strength. LOYS's durability feat for Link is also helpful to determine how much pressure Link can take. It's also a strength feat but whatever.

Wait, what does LOYS stand for and what's the durability feat?

I still don't see Link getting a sword knocked out of his hand a durability feat. That's a stretch if I ever saw one. Especially considering he takes damage from jumping too high. He has shown no conclusive evidence his abilities are above a normal human's without the aid of magic items. Lloyd, however, IS physically superior to humans. And in more ways than just speed. Look at how high he can jump, and he leaps off cliffs like he was hopping off a bar stool. He single handedly defeated Kratos, who is arguably the greatest swordsman that world has to offer, and Kratos doesn't just have awesome swordsmanship skills, he has an ex-sphere which gives him a world of super powers on top of it, including some of the most powerful magic, and the ability to fly as well as super human physical abilities. Another good showing of his abilities are the opening scene of ToS:

EDIT: Huh... the video still isn't coming up. I must be typing in the things wrong. What's the input for Youtube video's again?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuSwt3GWNrQ (Here's the link to the video.)

Right at the beginning is another demonstration of his jumping abilities, and he slashes through the Sword Dancer (the skeleton).
