this is exactly why i listed you as one of the best debaters in the nomination thread. 😄

in Astonishing Thor, he is travelling through the solar system in a matter of what appears to be minutes. Certainly faster than "hyperspace". It might be reasonable to conclude this approachs light-speed, though it doesn't look like he can he can go from 0 to ls instantly. lol, Im really not familiar with the character though

EDIT: marvel hyperspace: http://marvel.wikia.com/Glossary:Hyperspace

Yeah Thor has consistent FTL travel speeds throughout his career.

But FTL reflexes and what not? Idk. I don't think the debate is settled there.

ah, fair enough, I figured I was just stating the obvious

It also done by his hammer. Iz brought up more then enough evidence in my opinion to question if it thors speed really or simply the hammer.

forgive me if I'm wrong, but a huge number of Thor's powers come from his hammer, do they not? doesn't his alter ego need the hammer to transform even? (god, does he still have an alter ego?)

Yea pretty much all his range abilities come from the hammer I believe. Hammerstrike needed the hammer to transform, however I not sure current one needs it. I think his current alter ego is my a disguise then anything, kinda like clark kent.

no... I picked something we could all probably agree was faster than Gorgon and that I didn't have to look up top running speed of (60mph iirc)
I guess you wasn't around in that time here, he made funny comparisons for max speed and actually used a cheetah. NVM then.

Sorry to say this but you are wrong.

Thor powers come from him, the hammer is just a better source on channeling and concentrating that power.

Carver's actually correct in this statement.

Thor's said plenty of times, especially in the previous volume, that Mjolnir is a tool, a powerful tool, but a tool nonetheless. Mjolnir acts a focusing lens for his natural power and ability and is backed up by multiple instances of canon panels and stories.

It depends Mjolnit does have some power Thor doesn't. However Thor has control over the weather. and can create magical storm/lighting too we have seen the Durok dropper. But other stuff it appears he needs mjolnir for some of the more exotic

yep

Sorry for the delayed response Izie. I've been kind of lazy and only recently started collecting writer opinions. Already got two. 🙂

"Izie?" Lol, someone's feeling smug. Well, let's hope those writers don't discredit themselves by claiming that Mjolnir doesn't have the "power to spin superfast." Cuz... we've seen that it does... I await your post with bated breath.

Gorgon is faster than Wolverine. Wolverine is faster than Thor. Thor can fly at FTL. Thor can't fight at FTL. Thor isn't Superman.

80 plus pages... ridiculous.

Thor has blocked bullets and lasers while not flying with Mjolnir please stop making comments about his flight speed when this fight deals with his reactions.
