I would like to elaborate my claim that Gladiator is a strong contender for the title. Unlike villains, who are more evil than dickish, Gladiator is not actually wicked. He is just an *******. Not only that, but with most of the other people under discussion, they are either villains or have moments and actions that redeem their dickery, whereas Gladiator is an ******* through and through.
