That's pretty interesting. Viral marketing for Pandora.
The people mentioned (I'm guessing on one) are:
Spoiler:
Raven and Zealot both mentioned by name and description (The three-eyed demon's unholy spawn and the Dark God's zealot daughter know their mission well.....)Later she says this about them:
(Pandora is and has always been. My thirst for the unknown unleashed all the worlds' evils and I walk these worlds cursed in punishment for it.The Third sinner comes. The old wizard failed in his charge and he will fall at my hands.
Raven and Zealot are at the ready, as are the soldiers they command.
All in my name. All for Pandora.)
and Shazam/Billy/Merlin
(And with the clouds, the lightning comes.
And he dreams that he can hide! Hide from ME, within that mortal boy!?!?
There has always been a light to cast him out of darkness.
Let there be light)
Still, good to see them drumming up some additional interest! 👆
One thing about the Darkseid arc that occured to me today is that up until now, Darkseid most likely hasn't encountered beings that could face him and actually challenge him. Look at how he basically considered Hal a non-threat.
Even when they worked as a team, he was still too much for them physically, though even that might have just been a by-product of their suprising him.
Originally posted by PhilosophíaI was wondering if Darkseid would tie-in to Multiversity as well.
On the Final Crisis being canon again - seeing as how that's Darkseid's true form, and Earth 2 teasers have shown it as being invaded by Parademons aswell, could it be possibly that it all ties in to Morrison's Multiversity, and Darkseid will launch a Multiversal attack by projecting himself using Avatars on different Universes and conquering them, a Multiversal army (not unlike that in Final Crisis) being needed to fight him everywhere?
What I'm hoping is that the Darkseid we just saw in JLA was an avatar/probe of the 'true' Darkseid--a probe he sent to the new 52 prime earth, in order to gauge it's threat level. He might send a probe to every earth he plots to invade, before waging his full-scale invasion of the multiverse. If Morrison plans on using Darkseid in Multiversity, those events would make [more] sense, as he is one of the select few people who actually writes Darkseid as the metaphysical God he truly is--not just a physical brawler like we primarily saw in JLA (which is more how I think an avatar/probe should be portrayed.)
*crosses fingers*

I don't know dude, I kinda think Rage is on to something. Johns writes terrible dialogue, which is the biggest compliant leveled against Bendis. Just look at the mind numbingly terrible dialogue between Pandora and the Phantom Stranger. I would honestly say Johns' dialogue is worse than Bendis. Bendis' dialogue suffers because everyone he writes talks like Spider-man... John's dialogue is just innately bad. It's all terrible b-level 80's action movie cheese. Bendis's characters all sound the same because he gives them all the same personality, Johns' characters all sound the same because none of them have one to begin with.
DC should have Johns plotting and pay someone else to come in and actually write the character interactions and dialogue.
Like I said, Aquaman and GL have been great. His JSA was great as well. Johns can write some great dialogue. Same with Bendis, however, Johns work right now is really good, IMO. Aquaman has been one of my favs and GL is one of the best high profile books now.
And I'm not an Aquaman fanboy like PR! 😖hifty:

I'd say his JSA is best example of his terrible dialogue at work. Obviously he has done great work, a lot of people will say Green Lantern, but for me personally it's his run on Teen Titans. Green Lantern is kind of languishing since the reboot, and nothing about his Aquaman run has blown me away, in fact it kind of erks me that it is so heavy handed with the "You thought Aquaman was a joke? Oh boy think again!" theme. I don't need to be convinced Aquaman isn't the but of a joke, only a couple of 100,000 people buy comics every month and we all already knew that Aquaman wasn't a joke.... so how about you tailor your story to us and not the millions of frat boy assholes who watch Family Guy and will never read an Aquaman comic?

Teen Titans was horrible, IMO. And that's the general consensus that I have heard with Geoff fans. JSA was gold and so is Aquaman. But everyone has their own tastes. personally, I'm enjoying JLA. It's not as good as it could be, but it's entertaining.

That's how you know its good, because Geoff Johns don't like it. 😎

I have no idea how you can say that with a straight face.
Bendis' Avengers and New Avengers recent issues were honestly probably better than the recent Justice League work. I mean, that shit was really cringe worthy.
Just ugh. Maybe it's because I read Secret Origins recently and the dip in quality is immense.

Green Lantern has been whatever and Aquaman is alright, not going to place either titles over Ultimate Spider-Man.
Johns peaked with Sinestro Corps War. Easily his best work, period. GL started to languish around the build up to Blackest Night and went up and down since. His JSA run was also good.
Justice League was so...ugh. Darkseid basically just shows up outta nowhere like Kool-Aid Man and acts like a dumb brute. I'm not a hardcore Darkseid fanboy, either, but I do prefer his portrayals to be less about fighting people like some badass villain and more methodical and well thought out. They had a chance to write Darkseid akin to his Kirby Era or even the mythical Darkseid that's beyond Skyfather level and can kill anyone with his Omega Effect unless they're really just the Omega Beams - even though they're probably the same thing under most writers - in which case it doesn't count because it probably was just an avatar. It was really disappointing. Worse was the fact that Superman of all people had possibly the least amount of dialogue or character development in the issues. He was just...there. This felt more like the Hal and Bruce show than anything else.

just a few things:
1St geoff has already stated he doesnt get the new gods. so i wasnt expecting morrison quality or even simonson.
it was just an introduction for something much bigger down the road. whether that be morrisons Multiversity or whatnot remains to be seen. Caldwello shinted that he will be doing a new gods project.
last, darkseid didnt really want to fight. he was mainly looking for "her". was it Pandora? who knows, but for someone who didnt care for the league, he made the justice league look like flies.
