thats...interesting, but i would prefer the og team 7. good thing nothing from flashpont will be bleeding into the 52.

"Wait and see" is too much of my money. I follow enough Marvel and Indie titles. I'm not interested in just another decent story, I've followed them because they're the characters I had watched grow and change. If they want to bring back JSA without trashing their history, I'll dance. Until then, meh.

Team 7 isn't Team 7 without, well, most of those guys. Kind of a joke name. Might be decent, but again indicative of the changes.

although, it would be cool to see some ws characters in men of war. sgt. rock and all.

My thoughts on the matter is that hind sight being 20/20 there are certain story arcs and character threads that I'm sure DC would admit didn't work or lead no where. Knowing where the characters are now, and what works a writer could go back and start from the beginning and weave a better and more consistent story. For instance, if a competent writer / director went back in remade the original Star Wars, Luke and Leia wouldn't be kissing each other, that's for damn sure. You have the opportunity to keep what works and build on it, while discarding and ignoring what doesn't. The core concept of most of these characters have always had more potential then the execution ever delivered. The potential is there for better stories and the fact is that is easier to accomplish without having to maneuver around 25 years of continuity. Marvel's continuity isn't nearly as muddled and convoluted as DC's and I honestly think they should reboot too.

Of course this all runs the problem the Ultimate line had which is in a few years the relaunch ends up getting marred with its own illogical bs subsequent writers want to ignore.

I almost agree with srank. At first, I wanted a full fledged reboot, but now that I think of it, I'm glad they're keeping some of the continuity. And building upon these characters.

I mean if they DID have a full on reboot, there would have been at least 5 more protestors at the comic con! 😂

I'm getting it only because of Vandal Savage. And since we have seen Paul write Vanda, it's an automatic win.

George Perez on inking GA. I've never been a fan of GA, but this new direction keeps me interested.

For those who are worried about the JSA not coming back...

When asked about Jay Garrick, Alan Scott and the other Golden Age characters, DiDio stated that they were taking a rest on them. Lee explicated that they did the same thing with the WildStorm characters and it only lasted a year.

I suspect Captain Marvel and JSA to be the second wave of books next year.

You'll forgive me if I take nothing DiDio says at face value. I hope the JSA will be re-introduced as the real first superhero team if true and not in some alternate reality crap.

They have to hold something back to put in the place of the large number of books sure to be canceled.

dc published around 85-90 titles and many minis are ending or one-shots. they need books in place of those. superman beyond, captain marvel, and batman beyond have not been announced yet.

facepalm

I wonder how the "New Age of Magic" is going? Maybe with all the magical character's in the new comic's we might get to see something, hmm 5 years after Infinite Crisis....

Btw Prep I thought I saw Superman Beyond coming out in the DC list on their site? 😕

That's #0. They will have a #1 in a few months with their second wave of books.

Needs a better name.

Speaking of female characters, DC got some backlash for hailing their new lineup as super-diverse* while reducing the number of books about women and having only one female creator involved (for comparison, Marvel has something like 6-7 active female creators for the moment), and decided to do something about it.

*And note, yes, they actually did this. If they never brought it up I doubt many people would make a big deal aside from minor grumblings (like I did about Power Girl and Zatanna not having their own books any more), but how dense do you have to be to use a wider range of characters as a selling point and forget that there is a female audience (and male readers who like to read books with female stars too)?

That's pretty cool. Gail's just about the only woman whom DC regularly pushes (not for nothing, mind you). Amanda Connor needs to get on something asap.

uhhh, nicola scott? and amanda conner is marvel exclusive, right? scott has said she also working on a dc project, which should have been announced already.

Nothing that made it into the relaunch. Needless to say, "One current and one slated for an unknown future project at an unknown time," is not particularly impressive.

And I don't think Amanda Conner is currently signed on with anyone, at least not that I can find.

I think Colleen Coover's plate is clear, they should try and ask her too. Kelly Sue DeConnick's another possible, as she's working on a pre-reboot book. Maybe looks for some new talent. If they don't have female creators, it's purely because they aren't trying.

But the moral of the story is? Don't brag about something when you're dropping what you're doing in that area considerably 🙂 Hopefully they'll do more with their response than they'd do as part of their SOP, DC's never exactly had an excess in the area.
