i like cassies new look, but rr needs to lose those wings.

I always liked the casual jeans and tank top look to be honest, same with Superboy and his jeans and t-shirt approach.

i like that look too. looking at the pic again, i dont like the fact that cass is so buff. she is supposed to be one of the most powerful teenagers, so...

Cass looks like she could bend steel girders with those arms. Way over the top, IMO.

I like it.

I think what happened was that DC realized Cassie's entire character is relatively based around her relationship with other characters and that it leaves her sort of stale these days. First she was a Wonder Woman character, then she was Superboy's girlfriend, then she was Ares' *****, then she was Superboy's girlfriend again (completely ignoring her power-up). She hasn't stood out (despite being a team leader at present) since her time with Young Justice; even then she played second fiddle to more popular characters like Robin and Conner. Hell, even when she stood up to Wonder Woman in Titans, it was Starfire who ended up being more assertive.

She has no outstanding traits that define her as a character anymore. She's just a "good" girl who kind of sort of is/was in charge of the Teen Titans because she was the only one left with the experience to do it.

From what I can tell, at least through concept art and leaked pages, Cassie looks a lot more menacing all around. I think that's what they're going for. She's got an edge now. The cosmetic redesign is necessary to dispel the "teenager who casually fights crime" persona that this new Wonder Girl probably doesn't have lol.

Otherwise, I love the red and the hood allusion to Circe. I love the look of the new lasso and the aegis affect. Love the Donna Troy sparkles in the shadow of her uniform and I really hope it stays consistent because it's awesome. Maybe I'd be more upset that they're redoing a character I've grown to love from scratch if it wasn't so damn necessary. They absolutely wasted her pivotal transformation after she became a demigoddess and tossed aside the blessings of Zeus and Ares. Brother Blood says she's more powerful now in passing dialogue? That's really all I get after however many dozens of issues? No cool fight, no explanation on the lasso? Shit, they randomly took away her new costume recently and never mentioned why at all. They made a big deal about her getting rid of her bracers and joking about the "sacrilege" to Supergirl and then... next issue... bracers are back.

I fully support the revamp at this point. There are more characters who need updated than ones who don't.

Extensor carpi radialis brevis muscle is way to big, it is covering like 35% of the extensor digitorum in that picture.

Plus her arms look ****ed up.

I liked YJ Cassie a lot. Her characterization and depth went downhill as Teen Titans went on.

I've always preferred Cassie's casual look, but I like this new outfit too.

Love a lot of this preview art and logos.

I hope James Robinson is on his A game when he writes JSA #1 with Nicola Scott. It's gonna look pretty, but will it actually be any good?

i will read the first issue and decide afterward

Ok, here's a question: The WW reboot had a lot of complains but, as far as I know, the addition of pants wasn't one of them and was fairly well received.

DC made the new reboot of Wondy have pants in the initial shown covers... and have now edited them so they no longer have pants (making her new-new outfit something like a pantless version of her new outfit).

I don't mind either way. Were they getting complaints or something? Seems an odd change question

WW with pants means less skin/fanservice, which is her only real reason for being on the Justice League, so it's understandable they'd get rid of them.

That and her being one of the more useful members who's shown she can take the team apart if she wants to.

---
The weird thing is both her book and JLA were put out with pants on sample covers first.

Every member of the big 7 is given that treatment, so it isn't that. Hell, in the Big 7 I'd say only Aquaman is more useless than WW, but now that Jonn's gone he's their telepath, so she's pretty much bottom rung.

This may change depending on how dependant the new JLA is on Cyborgs tech, she may once again go back to being only the second most useless.

She's the team's resident magic guru, combat expert, and can surely take the role of brawler if need be.

I find this whole continuity whoring to be quite annoying. I'm one of the primary Superman supporters on this board, and despite the fact that he is, based on what we've seen, without a doubt the character most affected by this changes, to put it mildly - since he quite literally gets a complete reboot - I embrace this change. Why? Because I don't need the stories to be a continuation of what happened before for them to make them great. And the stories that I read before still matter, because they're right there. I've read them. I've enjoyed them. And I'll continue to do so, eventough they're not 'in continuity'.

One thing people seem to miss is that, continuity is an illusion in the first place, at least as far as the characterization of characters goes - and I hope this is what the problem is (otherwise it really is just a tantrum "But I want this event in continuity for me to enjoy it!"😉. Each writer has his own ideea of what the characters he's writing behave, how powerful they are, what's the dynamic with the ones around him, what are his inner thoughts, feelings and desires. At best, there's a long-term arc and things stay consistent for that duration of that, until another writers comes and wants to do his own thing.

So to say "but there character is now not the same, because he didn't have his hand in the cangoroo's anus five years ago!" is an ignorance of how the medium works. As long as the core of the character, the ideea and personalities are well written, I couldn't care less that Superman didn't go there or do that, some measure of time ago.

But maybe that's just me. Hell, some people are going batshit insane about Wonder Woman having/not having pants. Or Superman not wearing his underwear on the outside.

I'm not one of them.

^^
