TAS looks miles better than S1. And S3 will obviously be a joke in comparison.

👆 🤘 🤘 well said.

Just wish Gwen didn't know Pete was Spidey goddamnit!! That's the only downside I'm seeing to this movie. I wish they would just stop unmasking him in every single movie for the love of....

Dude. Spiderman was awesome for what it was. SM 2 was simply incredible but with huge faults. SM3 ventured further into the faults.

It's fine for Gwen to know Parkers secret. Afterall she was his greatest mistake. And the public these days. They have zero patience. ZERO. They want it all and they want it NOW!

From what I've seen from clips. Parker doesn't have much control over his ability to hide his secret identity. I could've watched this film 2 weeks ago but I decided not too. I wish I did. This movie is such a conundrum.

But I just wanna say Raimi wasn't to blame for Spidey 3. Sony screwed it for everyone there. He just desperately held the pieces together.
My biggest curiosity in this movie is gonna be the webshooter. From what I've seen it's cool.

SM1 was OK. But just OK. It was nothing compared to the great superhero movie origins like Superman 1, Batman Begins, Iron Man 1, and even X-Men First Class.

They just seemed to force the Green Goblin in there just for the sake of having a super villain. Which I felt was pointless as there was no breathtaking action sequence between Spidey and Goblin. Plus that horrible costume, Dafoe's over acting... The Goblin just ruined S1 for me. I just found the second half of the movie pretty boring. As a Spiderman fan who had waited years and years and years to see Spidey on the big screen I was disappointed.

S2 was great (apart from the constant unmasking). I have a feeling TAS will be similar (as in great quality film but with the annoying constant unmasking).

But dude S3 was just terrible!

Overall yes I enjoyed S2, but I just hated the trilogy as a whole. But with TAS hopefully we'll have 2 great Spidey movies and more to come.

Why can't they just stick to the comics? It just takes away that feeling that he's alone.

Even S1 gave us that. And most of S2.(They just decided on a happy ending for S2, which I personally would have left for the end of S3).

Explain to me what was so good about Superman 1.

The acting across the board was hammy and stale. The plot made no sense and was full of holes, and the movie wasn't faithful to the comics bar the most basic shit.

I'll never understand why people fellate that movie so much. It has nothing going for it besides "it's a classic".

It isn't... And I'm a big Superman fan.

Anyways, my enthusiasm for this film is pretty much non-existent. It looks pretty bad and the casting appears to be horrible.

Hate to break your heart but Gwen knwoing his identiy is like Commisisoner Gordon knowing Bruce wayne is Batman and Gwen was the best thing they ever did.Killing her was the worst thing they ever did. That whore b!tch tramp Mary jane was their greatest mistake.

it wont be as disgraceful as the Raimi films were thats for sure and at least the casting choice for Peter Parker is good.Tobey Goober Mcguire was about the worst casting choice Raimi could have come up with. That guy could not act if his life depended on it. 😆 Every movie I have seen him in he always sounds the same.

A flat unenthusiastic voice like he doesnt want to be there and is depressed. at first I had my doubts if this actor was going to be any good since in his intereviews he always talks in an english accent and also does in all his movies I have seen but he speaks american very well and is a far better actor that Goober.

At least we have someone this time playing the main character who can act. 😄 😛 also have you seen the movie CRAZY STUPID LOVE? the actress playing Gwen is in that movie and I was skeptical about her casting choice since she sounds nothing like she does in that movie like she does in the trailer.that tells me she understands the character of Gwen and has done her research well for this role.Dunst was equally as horrible as MJ as Mcguire was as Parker.

oh and sorry, this trailer looks ten times better than that god awful trailer from the 2002 film looked.you could tell just from that trailer that the movie would such just liek the trailer did.

I don't know how old you are. Yes it's a bit outdated now with all the CGI action packed superhero movies. But we loved that movie all throughout the 80's and 90's.

But still it's a classic Origin story for the last son of Krypton.

Oh come on. Reeve's acting was superb. No Superman since has acted a split persona of Clark Kent and Superman as well as he did.

Kidder was also a great Lane.

And you can say differently about Spiderman 1.

Your kidding right? You think Toby Macguire and Kirsten Dunst was better casting??

If there's one thing this movie has obviously got right it's the casting. They've picked people who can actually act this time.

😆

what was so good about superman1? comedy gold. 😆 Its still considered the greatest comicbook movie ever made.It set the bar for future comicbook movies to be measured up against. they made you believe that a man could fly and it had an excellent storyline and great acting and with John Williams doing the music score,it has the best music score of any comicbook movie.

Batman 89's theme song might be just as good but thats it. thats comedy gold that the acting was hammy and stale and the plot made no sense..the pathetic spiderman movies had far more many holes than superman did easily. 😆 🤣 😆 Thats a good description of Mcguires acting. 🤣 😆 at least the main actor for the title role in superman could act. 🤣 😆 😂

People need to understand the evolution of cinematic representations of comic genre charcters. We don't live in a perfect artistic world. Marketing groups and producers of the day were and still are monsters. They rape art for the sake of quick money.

Superman movies, Batman movies and Spiderman movies ect. All fell to either bad directors, producers, marketing or all.

Superman was amazing for its day.
Batman was the bomb.
Spiderman was exciting and fresh.

Watchmen was made with an insane budget and an excellent cast but it failed in the box office.

Marvel films were mocked by geeks and followed by the public for they were obviously stale. It took Marvel to take matters into their own hands to create their own studio and DC to recieve critical acclaim for Dark Knight for people to be aware that change was needed.

Comic films still suck to a degree. Batman is stunted in a realistic environment and Bale sucks as Batman. And Avengers could by a geeks standards have been be soooo much more.

My point is take these representations for what they are. Fanfiction. Enjoy them without dissecting every tiny fault. the medium is evolving. Slowly. But it's evolving.

But personally the makers of this new Spidey film haven't completely learnt the lessons/mistakes the last films made from what I've seen.

Why does this movie come out on a Tuesday? (July 3rd) confused1

for the 4th of july holiday..

Oh, right. I guess that makes sense. But why not just release it the weekend before?

Good review. Looking very promising.

It says the only bad thing is the unmasking (which is what I was saying I don't like) but it gave a the probable reason why it happens. That it must be really irritating for the actor to keep it on. Meh whatever.. I can't wait for this.

Maybe Bale sucks as Batman but he doesnt suck like Keaton did as Bruce wayne. You hit the nail right on the head that they rape art for the sake of money and for sure all the Batman movies before Batman Begins all fell to bad directors and so did spiderman, but disagree completely obviously that the classic superman fell to a bad director or producer.

you are right though that these makers of this spidey film havent completely learned from the mistakes of the last films with the identity thing obviously. However the promising thing is I saw The Avengers the other day again and while I was waiting in line for refreshments before the movie, since I got there early,I was able to spend some time watching a short commentary of the new movie and they were showing scenes in the movie that are not in the trailers and from what I saw,for the most part they are pushing all the right buttons it looks like.

The only mistake they seem to be making as of right now,is the identity thing. You got to remember though that that seems to be a trend these days with comicbook movies.

Every Batman movie made in recent years has done it,so did the spiderman films and this one as well so we just got to accept that their going to do that all the time. Those good old days of superman, nobody knowing the characters identity are over with.

The bright spot about this spidey movie is from everything I have seen it looks promising, the trailer is excellent contray to what people say,its much more faithful to the comicbook, they got his character right this time, and the special effects are awesome.

This one looks like it has a far much better storyline than the 2002 film did.as i said before,it was so obvious the 2002 version was going to be horrible from just the trailer. The trailer this time around looks awesome though and again from that commentary I have seen of seeing scenes that you dont see in the trailers, unlike with the 2002 version, this movie really looks like the positives far outweigh the negatives from everything I have seen from those commentarys. 💃

The thing more than anything though is the truth is and both the Raimi spiderman films and in this film, there were major screwups in casting back then as there is now. This film as much as I am a big fan of Sally Field and Martin Sheen, they are way to young for the roles of Aunt May and Uncle Ben,same with Dennis Leary as Capt Stacy.

However, ask yourselfs this question.Which characters would you RATHER them screwup is they are going to screwup the casting choices for a spiderman movie, the supporting roles or the main characters? I myself can live with a coupel of screwup bad casting choices in Aunt May,Uncle Ben and Capt Stacy but I CANT live with major screwup casting choices in the main characters, the leads Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson.

Sorry but Kirsten Dunce just cant act worth a crap.Message boards all over the pace where criticising her horrible performance she gave back then as MJ.Thats mainly Raimis fault,he is the director and he is the one responsible for knowing the material and getting the actress to properly portray the character so thats mostly his fault for not correcting her.as for Mucguire? oh god Raimi could not have made a worse casting choice than him for the main title role. 😘 as I said before,Tobey Goober Mcguire couldnt act if his life depended on it.sad but true. How he ever made it in hollywood is beyond me.He has got to have special connections.thats the only thing that makes any sense.every movie he has been in thats how he always sounds.Flat with no enthusiam like he doesnt want to be there everytime!!

Garfield is a great actor. At first i was horrified by his casting choice because he is english and speaks with an english accent.Every movie UI have seen him in he always spoke with an enlgish accent so I was worried that he could not speak american but he has proven me wrong and you wouldnt know it that he isnt american. That there proves he is a good actor and it looks like he has really embraced the character.same with the actress playing Gwen.

She speaks totally different in a couple other films I have seen her in before than she does in this film so that tells me she has really researched the role well and really understands the character also and you got to give credit to Webber for that.I have a good feeling that he is the right guy for this just like Nolan was the right guy to finally give a us a good Batman movie.

yeah makes no sense at all.Good point.why release it on a tuesday? 🙄

LoL, ****ing bandwagoners, weeks and weeks and weeks of bitching and moaning about every little thing they think they saw or didn't see in the trailers, but now that reviews are coming out very favorabky for the film a week from release; it's "can't wait, looks great!". Assclowns.
